It can take some searching to find flowers of any kind in the State of Michigan in March. This daffodil (also known as narcissus) was the first flower to pop up in one of our flower gardens. Sadly, it looks like I may have accidently bruised the petals while raking dead leaves from the garden.
Like field mice to an elephant...

I was a little jealous when I wasn't able to climb over the fence to walk right up to the waterfall (terrible shoe choice that day) but hanging back and seeing this comparison of size was just as awesome. A girl next to me, however, was determined to cross the barrier. She talked a group of guys into helping her over despite her terrible shoe choice. About 15 minutes after leaving the falls, we saw a park ranger driving his cart down to the lookout...
Needless to say...I'm quite content with my choice of staying behind the safety fence. I've never had to be rescued by a park ranger, and I'd like it to stay that way! Proper attire is rather important for adventuring.

Sepia bandensis, commonly known as the stumpy-spined cuttlefish or dwarf cuttlefish, is a species of cuttlefish. Sepia baxteri and Sepia bartletti are possible synonyms. It reaches 7 centimeters in mantle length; males weigh about 40 grams, females 45 grams. The body is coloured light brown, or greenish yellow, with white spots on the head and short white bars on the dorsal mantle. The fins, of pale colour, have rows of small fluorescent blue spots. After walking for hours over the monotonous rock, just at the time when motivation was needed, we rounded the corner and the Nuns Veil Glacier came in to view. It was a little thinner than expected but looked like an exciting prospect!
I wanted to stop and gaze at the view and take in the route up the glacier but the rocky path in front of us allowed no such pleasure, and, wanting to get in to camp as early as possible I stopped only long enough to get a pic of Conor dwarfed by the mountains in front of us.
The sight of the glacier was also good news as it meant we were approaching the bivvy rock that was meant to be at the head of the glacier, but with the glacier apparently receding, just where this bivvy rock was no one actually knew.
