Captured in very bright sunshine.
Only about 2cm in diameter, its size can be appreciated when compared to the leaves it is resting on. They too are quite tiny. To the naked eye, this flower looks like it is all white, so the mauve edges of the petals came as a nice surprise during the editing process.
Dwarfed by the large silo complex in the township of Cummins, Genesee and Wyomings 851 cruises through enroute from Port Lincoln to Thevenard to take up working gypsum train duties on 18-9-2018.
Zinnia x hybrida in my garden. La Ceja, Colombia.
Zinnia x hybrida cultivars are a cross between Zinnia elegans and Zinnia angustifolia. They have the short, compact size and profuse flowering of the former and the disease resistance of the latter. Flowers average between 2 and 3 inches in diameter.
Zinnia x hybrida is considered a dwarf group -- they have been bred to be much shorter and bushier than the species plants.

A selection of dwarf conifers are planted around large boulders. These low and slow growing trees have their own section in the garden. These tiny trees can also be found in the front of larger plantings too.
My goal of designing a perfect LEGO dwarf spider droid is complete (With a few exceptions)
First of all the 4x4 hemisphere would be the perfect element if only there was a stud on the very top for connecting a little would be antenna. (Major oversight by the designer of that part)
Since other part configurations simply does not look as correct, the most elegant solution is to drill a small hole directly in the center of part 86500 (Purists look away) this will allow a foil/épée sword to stick through the shell and complete the look.
Now for the two large optical sensors sitting directly on the spherical chassis, this was the hardest part to incorporate over to a LEGO frame. Again because I'm going for maximum movie accurracy THE best part to use is without a doubt 3614b.
Because its compatible with balljoints the eyes can sit flush to the head at a slight angle (Exactly what we want)
Unfortunately it's an old part not produced since 2003, but the part should be available albeit slighly expensive at least only two is needed to complete the model.
DWARFS, NOT "DWARVES"
These are actually soft rubber bath toys, but even with their inaccurate color schemes, they're perfect in size for a 12'' Snow White doll. Sadly... they're not mine.
This is an item appearing in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
We made this item for doll.
There are various little wooden chairs in the dwarf's home.
This time we referenced to one design.
Snow White sat on that chair after dancing with the dwarfs.
Then she sings a romantic song.
We used the real wood for this work.
The frog's left and right fingers seems to be different in the movie.
However we dared to make the fingers same.
There are many lovely wooden items in this movie.
That is one reason why I love this movie.

"Dwarf" light auxiliary drone.
Used to transport equipment and support infantry squads. Can also be used as a
sapper.
I still can not install photoshop, so I can not post more serious works.
MOC is improved version of drone that built by Hsiroulff (www.flickr.com/photos/157131608@N06/).
Back at work again so had minimal time to take pictures and upload so don't think I'm ignoring you just been doing extreme hours.
Nothing new to upload so heres one from the end of December from a walk along Seafords seafront using my Hitech pro stopper filter.
I'm still struggling to use this filter with its extreme colour cast as correcting it post processing is actually quite difficult as the automatic white balance dropper doesn't look right at all.
I've had to do it manually experimenting with the sliders which is getting better results but time consuming.
My screw in B+W 10 stop filter was much more forgiving and easier to colour correct and also the clarity was much greater, I just needed a slot in filter to compliment my grads to add more impact to my skies.
Im off work in a couple of weeks for around 9 days so hopefully I can really test this Hitech baby out.
Perhaps when I find a White Balance setting thats works I can write it down and use that as a starting point to cut processing times down.
Anyway now to this picture, I loved these funny shaped stones which kind of reminded me of the famous Giants Causeway which I belive to be in Northern Ireland (never been) thats why I chose the title of Dwarfs causeway, our own little mini version :)
This exposure is 137 seconds using the Hitech pro stopper and my Lee 0.6 nd grad for the sky.
Post Processing
I converted to mono using efex and one of the presets which had stark contrast and structure.
I used a few control points in efex to darken and lighten specific areas where needed.
Dodged and burned to taste.
Added 's' curve for extra contrast and bite.
Unsharp mask for detail and clarity.
Due to the extreme processing thanks to the colour cast and mono conversion filter there was small tearings in the sky so I used the blur pen tool to smooth these out before actually sharpening the picture.
Thankyou for all your amazing comments and views whilst I have been away for a few days and hopefully I will post some new stuff soon.
I had the idea of a mine with moving lorries for a long time. when the roller coaster system came out, it was time for concrete planning. A few months, notes and stones later it was time. The Dwarf Mine was at work.
First presented at the SteinCHenwelt 2019 in Arbon (CH). Now finally photographed and presented. Have fun!
Should have saved the triptych from yesterday for Bokeh Wednesday today. Oh well.... here's to a HBW :)
...had the pleasure of seeing this colourful sumac the other day in some friends garden...I found it a hard to shoot, busy subject so isolating a few branches seemed the way to go :) By darkening the shaded background to black, it seems to set off these fiery leaves!
ripe fruit on our dwarf pomegranate bush. Unfortunately, not good to eat, though the dogs enjoy chewing it. No accounting for tastes.
Africa's smallest carnivorous mammal.... It is a diurnal animal, highly social, living in extended family groups of two to thirty animals.
There is a strict hierarchy within a group, headed by the dominant pair (normally the oldest group members). All group members cooperate in helping to rear the pups and in guarding the group from predators...
They are primarily found in dry grassland, open forests, and bush land, up to 2,000 m in altitude; especially common in areas with many termite mounds, their favorite sleeping place.....as is seen in this image taken in Selenkay Private Conservancy, Amboseli National Park, Southern Kenya

Sorry to all my friends as I've been busy and not able to get on flickr for a few days. This is a very busy season for me. Will try to catch up.
Dwarf - designed by Eric Joisel, folded by me.
Paper: ~12cm of thin orange paper, given to me by natan - thanks again :)
this is one of a handfull of models which got me deep into origami:
the rat by eric joisel, which i for sure folded at least 50 times;
the yoda by fumiaki kawahata - my first complex model. I just wasn't able to do it, but i really wanted to finish the model;
the bull by stephan weber - love at first sight. still need to get a decent fold though;
this model - the dwarf by eric josel. i also folded it a lot of time, at least 15 i think. and this is definetly my best attempt at it. i folded it on the two last crazy weekends, starting in bolzano with liz and nathan and finishing it by shaping with mc on the german origami convention in bonn.
I myself like the mouth and the hat, hope you like it too :)

It was quite a nice surprise to find this tiny Iris blooming this year. Morgan County, Alabama. . . . added just a touch of Photoshop Elements.
This one was really beyond the limits of my extension tube, but I decided to post anyway, since it's the first time I've captured a dwarf spider. They are tiny red specks darting across the black fence. This one stopped momentarily to glare at the Yeti. :-)

A tiny forest kingfisher, little more than five inches long the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher is a scares breeding resident of lowland forests in parts of the Indian Subcontinent and southeast Asia so we were delighted to find this one quietly roosting at night in the wooded grounds of our hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
