I've cut all my pieces... and these are the squares that I have sewn together so far (the blocks aren't sewn together yet)

I finished the top at the weekend...so it was a super fast one. And not too much of a pain to put together. It is actually smaller than the tutorial, but that's because I realised it was ridiculously girly and was only going to get even more girly if I carried on (most of the other blocks were purpley or pink or just a bit on the girly side). So I stopped at lap size. Or baby size. 50ish inches x 60ish inches.

I will make another one, because it was fun. Fancy that - curved piecing fun. I never thought I'd utter those words!

I have been wanting to do a circle quilt, but I don't want to applique, and I don't want to fuse. Drunkard's Path seemed to be a good logical solution. It's going to be bright and maybe a little garish, but it is making me happy :-)

I was just playing around with this design and actually sold the pieces to SAJ to make into a purse!

The curved piecing workshop from February was curved piecing. I used Amy's Drunkards Path die to make this pillow top using the Autism Fabric as my inspiration. Check out the quilting in the green piecing....hope to have it turned into a pillow for Saturdays meeting!! Taylor is really liking these pillows.

Design possibilities

May is JulieFrick's month of the TwitterBee. These are not her fabrics, though!

I'm planning to do a block with 4 of these squares. Since I've never pieced curves before*, I thought I should make a practice square. This one came out pretty well, so I think I can move ahead to Julie's fabrics.

This is a 6" square, using Drunkard's Path templates I downloaded here.

Julie's will have a white background and use some of these beautiful fabrics.

* Who am I kidding? I'm a total quilting newbie. I've never even made a quilt before. I'm working on my first one though!

Oh my gosh....what a beauty. This is stunning. I love everything about it, and the goodies that were sent with it.

Thank you sweet whimsical partner!

Oh yeah...that would be me!

variations on drunkard's path

starting 2 new quilts when I have a stack of tops that need basting and quilting and another quilt already on the go.

It could be worse - I could be drinking beer and using a rotary cutter. Oh, heck, that was last night. Darn it.

My first attempt at a drunkards path potholder.
