DJI Global worked with Hasselblad to develop the camera of the Mavic 2 pro drone to include a 20 megapixel sensor. This means we can print a shot like this really big. I think a 5 foot print of this junkyard in western Kansas would look pretty cool. #photography
Eristalis is a large genus of hoverflies, family Syrphidae, in the order Diptera. Several species are known as drone flies (or droneflies) because they bear a resemblance to honeybee drones.
Drone flies and their relatives are fairly common generalist pollinators, the larvae of which are aquatic, and breathe through a long, snorkel-like appendage, hence the common name rat-tailed maggots.

With the last Northbound Great Southern Luxury Passenger train for the season in tow, NR31 and NR30 pick up the pace as they head through the Southern Highlands with Journey Beyond Rail service 6AT8 to Coffs Harbour.
With the success of this season, next season is already on sale. The train uses The Ghan rollingstock, which previously was parked up for the months of December and January when that service doesn't operate.

Drones in the US are not permitted to fly above 400 feet in most circumstances. So this is a view to the north west from Richland, WA at a height of 390 feet. The large white building in the distance is an agricultural freezer facility with a capacity of 15.8 million cubic feet that handles 2 billion pounds of food per year.
2/2023 - Morgan Run, OH
The sun was pretty much gone by the time I got to my final stop of this trip, but here are a few shots of the OHCR shop at Morgan Run. This facility was built sometime between 1994 and 2004. The diamond (exWLE) was severed sometime between 2015 and 2022. The straight route still in place is exPRR while the exWLE continues north, just not at the diamond.

For the 1350 drones to coordinate and fulfill their mission, three months of work were necessary. About twenty people programmed the show presented in Geneva, funded by a private sponsor. "It's a computer that directs all the drone choreography, it's even several computers according to each type of drone and that will give each drone where they should go and at what speed," says Cédric Schaller, director of the company Groupe F Suisse, project manager. After leaving the Royal Gorge Bridge, I followed what's left of the main line to Salida where I stayed the night. In the fading light, I caught some interesting views with the drone. Not far from Salida, one of these signals no longer wishes to stand.
A rescue drone designed to save lives, one of a family under development by an ESA-based start-up in the Netherlands.
Inspired by the refugee crisis, the Avy company has been working on robust, long-duration drones capable of detecting people in distress and, if necessary, dropping life jackets, life buoys, food and medicine.
The company was selected from more than a thousand entries as a finalist in the international Drones for Good competition in Dubai.
The company is currently based at ESA’s Business Incubation Centre in Noordwijk, receiving technical and business advice.

I've seen leaked photos but this is the first I've seen one of the pair outside in the sun. I just happened to be nearby and got this shot.
