I was testing a new drone today as my old one seems to be possessed and goes wherever it likes at the moment on it's own. I took this at Haldon this morning and at the coast, South Devon this afternoon. I wrote the track

Eristalis is a large genus of hoverflies, family Syrphidae, in the order Diptera. Several species are known as drone flies (or droneflies) because they bear a resemblance to honeybee drones.
Drone flies and their relatives are fairly common generalist pollinators, the larvae of which are aquatic, and breathe through a long, snorkel-like appendage, hence the common name rat-tailed maggots.

5/2021 - NS 1580 is a former N&W SD40. As far as I know it's still pending donation. No idea what the hold up is.
Fast-forward to 2024: The 1580 was finally donated to the Roanoke Chapter NRHS but sent to TVRM.
Drones in the US are not permitted to fly above 400 feet in most circumstances. So this is a view to the north west from Richland, WA at a height of 390 feet. The large white building in the distance is an agricultural freezer facility with a capacity of 15.8 million cubic feet that handles 2 billion pounds of food per year.
2/2023 - Morgan Run, OH
The sun was pretty much gone by the time I got to my final stop of this trip, but here are a few shots of the OHCR shop at Morgan Run. This facility was built sometime between 1994 and 2004. The diamond (exWLE) was severed sometime between 2015 and 2022. The straight route still in place is exPRR while the exWLE continues north, just not at the diamond.

For the 1350 drones to coordinate and fulfill their mission, three months of work were necessary. About twenty people programmed the show presented in Geneva, funded by a private sponsor. "It's a computer that directs all the drone choreography, it's even several computers according to each type of drone and that will give each drone where they should go and at what speed," says Cédric Schaller, director of the company Groupe F Suisse, project manager. Just back from a week in the Lake District and unlike my previous (and first visit), it did not disappoint. We had all kinds of conditions and I really don't know where to start with posting my shots but thought I'd start with this drone shot that ironically I took on the morning that I left. We had an amazing sunset the day before and as I got myself ready the morning after I saw that the sky was doing things that it had not all week so I ran down to a location that was near enough but would give me a good view point with the drone....
Why gather your own supplies when you can build a perfectly capable drone to do it for you?
Knew somebody would point that out. I'm banking on the fact that you would make this in the early stages of the apocalypse. Therefore you would have the supplies.
