Moving onto a different area of the Wabtec/GE plant. There is a ton of these Egyptian export units. GECX 809, a B36-7/B40-8 demonstrator with a unique wide-nose cab is equipped to be able to couple to the exports. Unfortunately I could not get closer to it.

With the last Northbound Great Southern Luxury Passenger train for the season in tow, NR31 and NR30 pick up the pace as they head through the Southern Highlands with Journey Beyond Rail service 6AT8 to Coffs Harbour.

5/2023 - Before work I had to get some shots of the freshly repaired and repainted NS 8099. The sun wasn't around to the front of the cab yet. More photos to come of 8099.
Drones in the US are not permitted to fly above 400 feet in most circumstances. So this is a view to the north west from Richland, WA at a height of 390 feet. The large white building in the distance is an agricultural freezer facility with a capacity of 15.8 million cubic feet that handles 2 billion pounds of food per year.

For the 1350 drones to coordinate and fulfill their mission, three months of work were necessary. About twenty people programmed the show presented in Geneva, funded by a private sponsor. "It's a computer that directs all the drone choreography, it's even several computers according to each type of drone and that will give each drone where they should go and at what speed," says Cédric Schaller, director of the company Groupe F Suisse, project manager. RTS News.

4/2023 - When this shot was taken nearly two months ago, the 1069 had recently arrived at the shop. It wasn't look before they moved it to the overhaul line and as I upload this it's currently in the paint shop.

After leaving the Royal Gorge Bridge, I followed what's left of the main line to Salida where I stayed the night. In the fading light, I caught some interesting views with the drone. Not far from Salida, one of these signals no longer wishes to stand.
I thought a drone for Droneuary would be a good model to record. Surprisingly it took about as long to build this guy as did the Space Rover.
