I am continually amazed by what I see after I take my zoom-zoom shots from the car. I usually don't have time to take in all my surroundings as we whip along, I just blindly point and shoot, and then examine the random results later. A lot of them are crap but there are always a few good ones, like this one, where everything came together, Click! :)
drive-by shooting with my iphone 3G, then processed later with the lo-

Bangkok, Thailand :
stabby shot this photograph while he was driving,.. bad habit
but still legal - since the law here only prohibits using cell phone while driving
stabby shot this photo, and i think i will put his stuff on my flickr, gradually over time -
since we don't really know what to do with these cityscape photographs.
Normally, people don't look at them that much. However, each place - each moment
did have some personal meaning, and would be sad to leave them behind. So, i will
put them here..
info :
that skinny tower in photograph called BAIYOK TOWER 2 - the tallest office building in Thailand. someone told me that all television stations in Bangkok broadcasting their signal from that tower. So, if it's true, that means if anything happens to the top of the tower, there will be no television signal in Bangkok and surrounding cities..
(not include cable / SAT TV because they using different system) hmm
i hope it's true...
Won't you call my private number.
We could go away for the summer.
We can drive around with the top down.

Took this last winter when everything wasn't so crazy.
This year is different...
Dad passed... and Mom moved to MA, then back to AZ. Real Mom has cancer still. Lost a SIL. My good friend Tim killed himself. 13 year old nephew was hit by a drunk driver night before Thanksgiving.... has had several surgeries to save one of his legs, but hes still in a wheelchair (we hope temporarily...) I quit both of my jobs, our personal businesses are booming, husband got a promotion and his own store, kids are off the deep end, (lol) expecting a granddaughter and a grandson in April and trying to get ready for Christmas and our cruise in January...
PHEW~
And then the assholes who bought the house behind us DESTROYED the woods in the backyard over the weekend while the city offices were closed and no one was around to stop them. They removed over 2 dozen small trees (some on OUR property) and 5 50+footers :(
I was literally sick.
If any of you all know of anything besides bamboo that will grow rather quickly and hide the ghetto and its thuglife on that street that appeared BOOM!!!! in our back yard, please let me know. I practically have a nervous breakdown (haha) while washing dishes now that this new "view" has come into play...

A deer in the rain that is, not a reindeer! It's not Christmas just yet. Oops, did I say the C word!
Mist and fog can be a fantastic tool to the photographer, Perhaps more so than any lens or filter in their kit. Not only can it provide a moody atmosphere, it also creates a natural background blur, cutting out the distractions and drawing the attention to the main subject.
This was a drive-by shooting, but only in the photographic sense!! I was a passenger in the car and fortunate enough for the deer to be on my side. The driver stopped so I could take the shot, and I think he probably took one himself too!

On the way home from Oamaru this afternoon. We had been to a wonderful Steampunk exhibition, some very inspirational stuff from Weta Workshop and others! I want a Raygun :-)
Processed with Flypapers as always....apple blush and raw linen were used here.
"Through me you pass into the city of woe:
Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.
"Justice the founder of my fabric mov'd:
To rear me was the task of power divine,
Supremest wisdom, and primeval love.
"Before me things create were none, save things
Eternal, and eternal I endure.
All hope abandon ye who enter here.
"Such characters in colour dim I mark'd
Over a portal's lofty arch inscrib'd:
Whereat I thus: Master, these words import."

Hello, myself and the most excellent Australian photographer Gerry Orkin will be running a 5 day street photography workshop in Istanbul this September from the 15th to the 20th. We'll be focusing on sequencing, series, telling stories and looking to produce a zine made with photographs taken over the course of the workshop. A few places are still available but numbers are limited. For more info please go and take a look at the website:
Shot one-handed through the car window without focusing--- I just wanted to see if I could capture the interesting clouds at sunset tonight. This is southbound I-71 through Cincinnati, the Procter and Gamble towers are prominent. I actually liked the soft focus of the buildings as a different view.
edit: song lyrics by Pete Seeger, compliments Sanibeljac!
"Little Boxes"
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes all the same
There's the green one and the pink one
And the blue one and the yellow one
And they're all made outta ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same
~ Pete Seeger
my first note on this shot, just FYI:
another of my old Grand Cayman shots -- this one taken while we were driving around the Island. I thought the colors were so great that I decided to bump them up! Was saving this for a perfect quote but since I haven't found one yet, I'm posting for the Karma group's multi-color thread! Have a color-filled day!!
