Drive By Shooting..

Long country drives are my absolute favorite, especially when Karen is behind the wheel. I get to be the observer, gazing out the passenger-side window, just like a dog on a Sunday drive. The world rushes by in a blur of color – trees and hedges morph into a watercolor painting, while stone and wood buildings flash past like postcards on a carousel. Camera in hand, I snap away through the window, trying to capture as many stately homes as possible before they disappear into the rear view mirror.

We drove past this Château on our way to south-west France. Shame about the stop sign, I did consider cloning it out, but figured it beyond my expertise, it being so big and central - HFF!

Get your motor runnin'..

Somewhere in Norwich.. can't remember now, sorry! Probably Barn Road / Dereham Road.

Ive said more than once that the open road feels like home.

Opened in 1967, the 48 km / 30 mile long Aurlandsfjellet (FV243) is a Norwegian National Tourist Route linking Aurland to Laerdal. Starting at sea level, it summits at 1306m / 4285'. After winter, the road opened just a few days ago, normally June 1st, and closes again in mid-October.

Benin, a narrow country in West Africa sandwiched between Nigeria and Togo.

A beautiful place with cool people, check it out sometime. Here are some more shots from my trip there, feel free to take a look (you don't need an account) and add yourself if you like:

And I do just that daily....... I celebrate PINK..!! ;))

I really couldn't believe my luck when I saw this house, didn't have time to step inside but I will be going back because this place has Cherishlovespink written all over it.!! ;)

For my friend, Delina (Pixel Packing Mama ~ 38 Million Views), who loves to take photos of benches.

We drive past this bench in our neighborhood frequently, but today I asked my husband to stop the car so that I could get a good shot, as all the others I had taken were blurry. :-)

I wonder if the owners of this house would really be friendly and welcoming if some sat down on the bench?

Better if viewed larger and against black by pressing "L" or clicking on opened image.

Candid iPhone shot on a Colorado freeway. As a photography instructor l always tell my students to actively look for interesting things to shoot - maybe not when you're driving, but when you're stopped in traffic, or at a light. This means having your camera at the ready at all times. Your iPhone is good for that. Remember: The best camera is the one you have with you.

Harness The Wind...

Long country drives are my absolute favorite, especially when Karen is behind the wheel. I get to be the observer, gazing out the passenger-side window, just like a dog on a Sunday drive. The world rushes by in a blur of color. All along the way as far as the eye can see there are hundreds of tall wind turbines standing like sentinels with arms outstretched catching the wind that whips across the flat landscape.

I made this little video in April 2008. It's very simple...basic...but it's the only 'movie' I've ever really made, and I'm really rather fond of it.

Back Seat Driver..

We were going for a drive, I was in the backseat of the car. the evening sun was just setting - making everything glow and the glare made it extremely difficult to see the road up ahead.

I was a little anxious and found myself back seat driving. telling my friend to slow down a little. it wasn't long till the sun had fallen behind the horizon and dusk settled in and luckily so did I.

seen in the Sapperton district of New Westminster as we zoom-zoomed by :)

I am continually amazed by what I see after I take my zoom-zoom shots from the car. I usually don't have time to take in all my surroundings as we whip along, I just blindly point and shoot, and then examine the random results later. A lot of them are crap but there are always a few good ones, like this one, where everything came together, Click! :)
