I discovered this small red mason bee in my house and after picking it up I gave it a drink of sugared water. The energy drink seemed to have the desired effect and the bee eventually flew off.....that's my good deed done for the day.
Trying to emulate a shot from one of my favorites photographers, David Loftus. Check him out. He's quite amazing :D

I was zooming in on the woodpecker & didn't realize that her gal pal had shown up until processing. Just a couple of ladies getting drinks together.

Took quite a few shots of this butterfly the other day, but liked this one best as it caught a copper bird sculpture with verdigris in the background giving it some unique coloring .
Rather like this shot while waiting for a sunrise at Ullswater noticed a dog coming down to the water edge to get a drink.
Just a random snapshot taken on the streets of the beautiful city of Ely, not far from Cambridge, Uk.

This picture was sent to me by a friend with no ID who made the picture. It’s been around the internet. I used Photoshop to improve the image for Flickr
But what’s really important is not the picture maker but who did the sculpture? This is an amazing work of art. I like how the artist uses minimal carvings on each pumpkin and yet you know exactly what he is trying to say. As an art historian I would rank it with other great sculptures especially those of the modern era. This would make a wonderful addition to any museum. If the artist could be identified I would lovingly place his or her name here.
Every time I look at this I laugh or smile. So that’s the main reason I placed it. Flickr people have a good laugh in these sad economical times.
I watched a couple of young bucks and some does feed for awhile and then come down to the water's edge for a cool drink. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
White duck, there's only this one in the group of ducks that hang out on the Russian River near my house, drinking in the river.
I appreciate thoughtful and respectful comments. Please NO multiple invites in one

the 'rules'!), and NO glittery, shimmering invites and/or comments....these will be deleted.
