This is a Giant Drill that was used in the carving of the underwater bridge connecting Tokyo and Chiba...huge.
I noticed that the drill bits in my workshop were all leaning towards the window and the sunshine, like flowers do.

Junk found in Granddad's garage, part III: enormous collection of silver&deming drillbits. There's a 1/4" bit across them for scale. One is almost an inch in diameter. I don't know what the slow-helix triple-flute drill up at the top right is: I've never seen anything like it. It might've been intended for drilling phenolic. It has no sharp cutting edges anywhere on it.
For this phase the workbench upgrade is complete, and tomorrow I can start working on my projects again.
In its own way is kinda cozy too.
This drill bit was used at Crownpoint, New Mexico to drill a 10 foot diameter shaft 2,234 feet into the earth. It weighs in at 443,000 pounds and required two 615 HP engines to power it.

Leader of the Giant planet, where the minicons come from. Metroplex came with a mini Prime, which was included to show how big Metroplex should be standing next to him. Metroplex's weapon could be used by Prime.
I normally use 1/16" bits for pilot holes, but they break frequently on the steel enclosures that I sometimes use. Maybe one size bigger bits will last longer.
What i used to repair the manifold.
From top, a letter "X" drill bit, 7/16 counter sink, 3/8 socket head cap screw, 3/8 Heli-Coil inserts and a special 3/8-16 Heli-Coil tap.
Funny thing...watched Drillbit Taylor last night and noticed that his first "campsite" in the movie was right about where I took this shot. Too fun!
