First try of out new cloak.

Thanks to ghostbones for the texture!

Hold on to your hats! very windy at the beach, which was a good thing for today's Kite Fest. Last year there was hardly enough wind to get the kites off the ground.

Don't f wit Mookie!

Fashion

Well Ms. Twiggy told me that since her birthday (Oct 31st) wasn't far off she wanted to be treated to something nice this month. So, I dressed her up, did her make up and nails and did a photo shoot for her. From the smile I think she was very pleased.

Ten years ago, the 2012 Olympic Games took place in Stratford in the East End of London. This week, to remember that great occasion I'm posting a number of photos taken over the course of the two weeks. Some are improved versions of shots already posted, but the majority are new images I've not previously shared with the public.

I found this pair of couples hilarious. The men are clearly committed to being noticed and having a great time, but (to me) their partners don't seem at all sure that they want to be too closely associated with them... Who said Brits are shy and retiring???

The extremely rare, early morning Pixie!

Whilst most people were still sleeping or getting ready for a day at work, I was drinking tea whilst watching the sun rise over the hills.

I didn't sleep last night and I keep having really horrible dreams. I dreamt that I lost my cats at a music festival and they got trampled. Then I dreamt that rats chewed through my bedroom floor and I was left on a floating platform surrounded by huge vicious rats!

I decided to give up on sleep, filled my thermos with tea and drove out to the hills. Made me feel much better (although much colder too!)

the wind was strong and awfully chilly causing me to cluck apologetically over the goosebumpy girls in all their strapless and exposed skin glory.

Dancing in the street

because I, like beadsinthebelfry am suffering from a sick computer, i'm using an old pic. this was halloween '96 i think. our mom made our costumes.

So, Out of nowhere these girls appeared and made for a great pic. Two minutes later I ran into this gang: www.flickr.com/photos/gottfrid/5211502832/

Good teams involve both people who have a knack for details, and leaders who see the big picture. This man's name is Al Zone. He's the executive director of the Elmwood Park Zoo, where I volunteer.

Al's visionary thinking has taken the zoo to new places, in terms of developing what happens on their campus and well beyond. He's engaged his organization with the surrounding community in ways that are exemplary for any non-profit.

As for nuts-and-bolts details, Al is good at empowering others to take care of them.

I like that.

Okay, here are the shoes - in fact here's exactly what I wore to the interview (plus a Tokidoki purse i inherited from Kristina, that earned me a compliment at the interview.

The interview went okay I guess. The founder of the company spent 2 hours with me, talking through the game design industry and what I need to do to get into it. Software that I should learn, portfolio material I should have.

I was hoping that something could happen immediately. Life's not that easy.

So it wasn't a rejection, but that's how it feels.

In other news, Kristina has started a 365. She's the prettiest girl in Chicago, and I mean that from the inside out! BonjourKitty. Go say hello :).

hannah, dani, lauren, and valerie have been good friends for years. they are in mason's sophomore class.

Last week, after I had submitted a photo in the 52 Weeks For Dogs Group, I took a series of shots of Lucy having a bath and they ended with a bright pink towel over her head which looked like a hoodie...

So I decided to put one of my hoodies on Lucy to see what she'd do...

She couldn't have cared less! Especially considering treats were-a-plenty!

So he's a series of Lucy with a hoodie on!

The Picard is pretty good, but the Sisco is amazing. They even nailed the personalities. I can't believe those suits showed that much junk thought. How was this show not more popular with the ladies again? I didn't have my diffuser on my speedlite yet, so the flash is very harsh. But I didn't want to make them wait.

Take a look at my favorites/gallery for what inspires me!
