Lava House is a modern home with a colour scheme inspired by the 1970's and hot lava. Dark orange, dark red, reddish brown and black are dominant colours.
The house is situated on a volcano shaped rock surrounded by a stream of water and sand. In some way it reminds me of Calmwater Cliff House MOC, but it is still very different.
Inside the house you find a fully furnished living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom downstairs and TV corner upstairs.
The grille tiled roof can easily be lifted off in order to display the interior.
My plan is to display Lava House at a Swebrick exhibition in Hässleholm, Sweden, in the middle of August 2018.
A floating home by the sea. Modern and comfortable. The house is surrounded by a wooden deck and shallow water. A bridge connects the deck to the guay. Fully interiored as always. Kitchen, toilet and living room downstairs. Bathroom, bedroom and storage space upstairs. You find photos of the interiors in my photostream.
Inspiration comes from childhood summers and sailing with my parents. It was a challenge to catch the maritime feeling with details such as railings and stays and at the same time keep the design clean and modern.
I used dark blue bricks to create the water surface. The more common technique with transparent tiles or plates wasn't really on option because it didn't fit in the colour scheme.

In Olive Sand House I combine the the desertlike surroundings and olive green/tan colour scheme of Whitebrick Sand House with the striped architecture of for example Green Rock House, Calmwater Cliff House and Vanilla House that has in some way become my trademark.
My dream home, in micro scale, built for the Eurobricks LDD / LDraw contest.
This is my actual dream home - a minimalist home on the side of the mountain or top of the cliffs, nestled amongst the trees, endless ocean views from wherever you are in the house and an infinity pool. And a black HSV. Preferably somewhere in north Queensland.
As promised here is a photo(s) of our new home. The 365 would not be complete without a photo of the hard labour of these past five months. I had been wanting to move to a rural setting for some peace and quiet for some time, but my wife did enjoy where we lived and told me it would take something special to get her to move. Well we found the something very special.

Purpose! Homes
We Dream. We Build Homes.
One of my favorite mansions in Fort Lauderdale, its a dream house! I love the layout and architecture of the house and the location is prime. The bay is across the street equiped with a dock large enough for you to park your 80 ft. yacht. The driveway under the house is insane, I can only imagine what it must look like inside. :-P
This was among Husband #2's photos that he probably took around 1969, and he labeled it on the back "Nebraska Dream Home". Being from Neb. he can say that...and sadly, I believe it could be true in his case. (We no longer live together, BTW, altho lately, this could be my dream home as well).
Relaxing, brown & blue color scheme of the 2008 Lake County YMCA Dream ("Green") Home Master Bedroom in Claridon, Ohio. Hope we win!!
A modern split-level beachhouse with swimmingpool. The main entrance is located on the back of the top floor where the facade is rather anonymous. The front facing the sea is more luxurious. The house is fully furnished with two bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, lounge, bathroom, music corner, TV-room, office and guest toilet.
Before I started designing this house I did a quick poll among my Instagram followers to find out which of my previous houses they liked and why. In this MOC I've tried to combine some of the things mentioned.
The MOC is divided into three modules to enable transport. Although the base and cliff are hollow constructions, the build is very heavy. One of my largest MOCs so far (my LEGO Masters Sweden builds excluded).
When I was about six or seven, I dreamed of living in a big house near the beach, surrounded by trees, with a flower and vegetable garden, and a beautiful kitchen. If you've seen Meryl Streep's house in That's Complicated, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Scotty's Castle (also known as Death Valley Ranch) is a two-story Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style villa located in the Grapevine Mountains of northern Death Valley in Death Valley National Park, California. "Scotty's Castle" is named for gold prospector Walter E. Scott, although Scott never owned it, nor is it an actual castle. Prospector “Death Valley Scotty” claimed this elaborate Spanish-style mansion was built by gold from his fictitious mine. In reality, it was the 1920s vacation home of his wealthy friends.
Hidden in the green oasis of Grapevine Canyon in far northern Death Valley, the Death Valley Ranch, or Scotty's Castle as it is more commonly known, is a window into the life and times of the Roaring '20s and Depression '30s. It was and is an engineer's dream home, a wealthy matron's vacation home and a man-of-mystery's hideout and getaway.
Walter E. Scott, Death Valley Scotty, convinced everyone that he had built the castle with money from his rich secret mines in the area. Albert Mussey Johnson actually built the house as a vacation getaway for himself and his wife Bessie. Scotty was the mystery, the cowboy, and the entertainer, but he was also a friend. Albert was the brains and the money. Two men as different as night and day, from different worlds and with different visions - who shared a dream.

. . . a heartache.
Title taken from a rather strange Roxy Music song
Picture taken in my spacious, though soon to be ex home.
Just a bit of late night fun, I had a quiet night in & couldn't sleep, so naturally the camera had to come out.
It also vaguely reminded me of the first Cure album cover.
