Beauty rest for a real beauty! These big cats rest up to 20 hours a day, according to source. With their food being thrown to them daily, I guess captive lions must sleep a bit more?

"A Dream Where I Embrace My Shadows":
Azaroz walked alone,
sustained by a light
that had always belonged to him.
Other lights had once walked beside him along his path.
Presences that brought much happiness,
but he always ended up believing,
in something that in reality did not exist.
Words, promises, and dreams that
quickly faded with time.
He tried to make them hold
in some way, but it was not possible.
So once again everything turned into distance and silence,
feeling himself tied once more to his own words
like absurd chains.
Silence stayed within him.
He no longer knew if anything had been lost at all.
But something changed inside him.
Something began to be heard
when there were no longer any answers.
A doubt.
And from the doubt, a shadow.
Then that dream returned:
where he saw himself from the outside,
like his shadow, like the exact negative of his being.
Where he could recognize himself.
He did not know whether it was a fall or a transformation.
But he stopped rejecting it.
Because the shadow did not come
to oppose the light.
It came… as part of it.
One of the harder shots I have ever taken, but for two different circumstances. First, I didn't have ND filter to lower the light levels down for me to do a long exposure shot, so what I did was stack two polarizing filters on (one handheld). The second problem was that people in the park kept moving in front of my shot, and I had to wait in place for about 30 minutes to get a clear shot. I'm very pleased with the results though.

Dream was designed by the Spanish artist and sculptor Jaume Plensa as part of The Big Art Project organised by the television company Channel 4 in 2009. It is sited on an old slag heap of Sutton Manor Colliery which closed in 1991 and it overlooks the M62 motorway. It consists of an elongated white structure 20 metres (66 ft) tall, weighing 500 tons, which has been carved to resemble the head and neck of a young woman with her eyes closed in meditation. The structure is coated in sparkling white Spanish dolomite, as a contrast to the coal which used to be mined here. It cost nearly £1.9 million and it is hoped it will become as powerful a symbol in North West England as Antony Gormley's Angel of the North is in North East England.[1] Dream has also attracted a certain amount of controversy. Some local residents and commuters believe that the sculpture looks somewhat phallic.

Sorting through the archives and thinking of spring. I love spring and fall the best and I do like the contrast of seasons but it has been bitterly (and unusually) cold her for the last two weeks. So....summer dreams have set in!

I painted my Dreaming Hal! I think I went a bit overboard on the blushing... Will need to blush his hands soon to make them look less white compared to his face XD!
