"I think I met myself in a dream today. I was holding a razor blade to my palm and cutting off the wings of butterflies that I then stuck into the weeping wounds on my wrists. The bodies of the poor monarchs still fluttered, though. The bodies still fluttered.
When I woke up, my mouth was full of blood and my lungs were deprived of air. I think I coughed for about fifteen minutes before my sister walked in on me and asked what the matter was. I couldn't do anything but sit there shaking with my knees to my chest and say, "oh, god, I'm horrible--oh, god--" as blood ran down my chin. My sister put a folded up tissue inside my mouth to rid it of the taste of saltiness and she said it would help keep the secrets in. I said to take it out. I don't want my own secrets, anyway."
GOD I have no new photos lately so I'm stuck editing old ones and yeh this is one I've always sort of liked from August but always been mad at myself for not expanding but yeah I like it. Also, I hate to be this person bUT IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER IN LARGE

Head full of nightmares, belly full of dreams.
A gluttonous dream eating demon. It devours the dreams of sleepers, replacing them with nightmares.
This was a sprint build on the last day, but I'm happy enough with how it came out. I do feel like I could have taken a better photo as some of the details are lost, but I was pressed for time. Had trouble coming up with an idea so did something unoriginal. Inspired by Drowzee from Pokémon (so I guess also the Baku from Japanese myth).

This is my first time doing macro photography. I spent few hours in my backyard to get some shots. I wanted to give this picture a vintage/calm look.
When I went out last month for a night of star photography, I chose an area a few miles west of Ahshislepah and south of a place called Valley of Dreams. VoD has a dense concentration of hoodoos and rock forms. It is not easy to get to; you have to cross Navajo Reservation land to reach it, and most if not all of the formations are on Navajo land.
I was surprised to see three large SUVs parked nearby and a row of tents set up in front of the formations. I walked over to find a group of Chinese folks on a tour of the American Southwest. Only a couple of them spoke English. I asked how they knew about this place but only learned that one member of their group knew of it. Probably from the Internet, I'm surmising.
Members of this group seemed to belong to the Chinese upper middle class. There was a woman dressed as a cowgirl -- boots and white stetson, tight jeans and frilly blouse. (Think Daisy Duke with black hair.) She was posing and getting photographed a lot. I noticed that some of them were trying to climb on top of the formations, apparently to be photographed by their companions. I told them that not only was this personally dangerous, it could destroy a formation that was thousands of years old. They seemed to understand and stopped.
Someday the Navajos might block access to the area. More likely, they might charge for a permit. I can't say that I disagree with that.
My dreams are now as nightmares,
as I wander through and through,
My mind is now corrupted,
as I wander through the new,
New doors have opened to me,
and I've paused then to step in,
wondering, and puzzling,
at all that lies within,
I step then through the blackness
of the open portal there,
and I step out into wonder,
that I never then could share,
I meet then a real new sight,
as the colors swirl by,
I see a field,a whole new world,
and I step forth now, but nigh!
What are these things that dwell here,
oh black creatures of the night,
these skeletons and wanderers,
who blunder in the blight.
A road now falls before me,
going down into the field,
I see bright blooms around me,
and I hope they are my shield,
A shield now from the danger,
that now dwells within my mind,
among the red, and white, and pink,
I know not what I'll find.
Things rise up from the ocean;
sea of Red, and pink, and black,
and I wander on the road there,
looking now for what I lack,
my dreams have drawn me to here,
to this field ever bright,
And carry ever onward,
though my mind's not always right.
I walk now through the meadow,
and I wonder what it means
to ever, ever wander,
in this endless Field of Dreams.

Last picture of the trio, i still remember back in 2017-2018 when this girl was first revealed, i thought to myself this is the most Poppy Poppy i have ever seen, she's sweet, youthful looking and have that cute mod fashion with the cape, boots and the berret, she's the whole package i could ever dream of. But back in the day i wasn't a club member and still a college student with little money to spend on the things i love, so my aunt bought me this girl off e-bay as a graduate present for me, it's like a dream come true and i treasure this Poppy til this day!
The reflected colors are even more saturated. I'm guessing it's due to the green color of the lake.

It's all about dreaming right? Well not exactly... I think we are all able to do just that. But to cultivate our dreams... to actually make an action so they come true... now that's the challenge (to me). I know I will eventually illustrate a children book... it's on page one of my "Dream book" of things I will do. It will be dreamy and full of magic. Look for it... soon!! :)
