This neat little stack of sacks is freshly french-seamed and drawstrung, all ready for market.
• Muslin — I used about a yard and a half of muslin to make 15 sacks
• Cotton string — I used a thick crochet yarn
• Threaded sewing machine — duh

Once I found the green vintage children's bed sheet I knew I would turn it into a quilt and when my grandson was born I also knew it was his! It reminded my of the books I used to read to my children when they were small. A quilt all about roads and cars for a car loving boy!
Ando a guardar esta foto há já algum tempo... Gostei muito deste bordado, tirei umas quantas fotos e tenho dificuldade em escolher de qual gosto mais.
Talvez coloque as outras um dia destes...

I sewed dice bags/catch all bags for all of our "nerdy" friends we've made out here in LA... it was a lot of fun picking out custom fabric patterns for each of them. I think I spent hours at the fabric store :)
I followed the pattern listed below, except I added a double pocket to the front of the bags for some extra storage and to give the bags a little more umph. I also found that the inside seams were unraveling a lot so I did a zig-zag stitch all along them.
Pattern: sew what! bags

Fold the upper portion of the bag inward 1/4″. If your fabric is thick, you can iron it to stay flat.
Here we have the new photos of my bags done by a great photographer friend. Over time he will be upgrading my photos for me! This Kabalah Tree of Life is Hand embroidered with metallic threads. This bag is big enough for a large sized Tarot Deck (e.g. Thoth) or Oracle Cards. People have also used these bags for jewellery, crystals, runes and more!
As you certainly know this is a great way to use scraps. This time I started sewing in the middle of the batting and added the scrappy strips in the same way as when I'm assembling a log cabin block and then I added more strips at the smaller sides because I need a rectangular panel for the drawstring bag.
Interested? There are more photos (and also additional information) in the albums "WIP / A quilter's diary" and QAYG. Happy sewing and quilting!
Used the lined drawstring bag tutorial from In Color Order - www.incolororder.com/2011/10/lined-drawstring-bag-tutoria...
Modified to make it a little bit smaller since I didn't have quite enough of the lining fabric.
Anubis bag with Anubis statue facing the camera a bit more and Egyptian Tarot cards.. The top card is 'The Moon'. This is a lovely deck by Clive Barrett. I have Hand Embroidered him with metallic threads.

She travels in style, that's for sure! When I saw this plush My Melody drawstring bag for sale on the Sanrio site, I had to snatch it up right away. It was almost out of stock as soon as the site advertised its arrival on Facebook, yikes. O___O As much as I wished it was bigger, I thought it would be perfect to carry some of my smaller toys in, like Contessa Pinktea and Pinkimiu (who isn't in the photo).
I really need to take more photos of Contessa Pinktea. She's still the cutest LPS I've ever seen... She sits on my desk and she always catches my eye when I'm working on something. Tee hee. With that pink, it's hard not to!
