For the taller bottles (top is folded down here). Made from a thrifted valence, following "Ditty Bags" instructions in Sew What! Bags. Blogged here.
Sam, Ellie and I were invited to a birthday party for a classmate turning five today. Her mom, a friend of mine, when asked what a good gift would be mentioned a few times a gift made just for Julia would be appreciated. Due to lack of planning, I started everything last night and had my almost five year olds wanting to help. We decided on simple. They picked the charms they wanted in the pillow, we made up drawstring bag from Jenn's pattern(LOVE THIS PATTERN) and made a truly EASY skirt with pre-ruffled fabric. What fun!
The best part was when Julia let Ellie and Sam know she was so happy to have something they made just for her. I hope my love of handmade always stays with my children.

Fold over again so that the edge meets your notch. If this is difficult to do, you can use a pencil and ruler to draw straight lines and fold along those lines, then press flat. Otherwise you can use your nails to crease the fabric flat. You may also hand stitch or pin in place to make sewing by machine easier.

Drawstring bag made using a great tutorial by Jeni at In Color Order: incolororder.blogspot.com/2011/10/lined-drawstring-bag-tu...
Shaylen picked her own fabric for this one - she even bought the all-pink FQ with her own money :) So cute!
A pretty drawstring bag--perfect for a project/knitting bag--all done up in a cute pink/black color scheme. I added a patch made from a vintage Aunt Martha's pattern which I've stitched up in black/pink/green/blue.
This is simply one example of how you can use my bags. Here it is being used to store and carry Egyptian themed tarot cards for readings. This drawstring bag is Hand Embroidered in metallic threads. It is big enough for a large sized Tarot Deck or Oracle Cards. People have also used these bags for jewellery, crystals, runes and more!
Summer 2011 Adriana mentioned during a trip to Jo-Ann's that she liked the gray fabric. During another trip, I purchased it knowing I'd eventually make her a quilted lunch tote. 18 months later, the contrasting red print ended up in my house because of the Color Wheel Swap with Megan from City Stitches. Another Denyse Schmidt print! Had to make Adriana coordinating gifts - another lined drawstring bag, 2 tissue pouches, and a crayon roll.
