Our first day out, the three of us, drawing in the sunshine together, in the village square. Chatter, cars at our elbow, mothers with prams, sprinklers.. and there we were, lost amongst it all ..on a long bench on the cobbles of a cafe's outdoor tables, mostly empty..everyone peaceful, no one even noticing we were there..... This was the real Gemany, at last..... and I drank it in..and loved it!
Barrowford Park..a wonderful reunion from way back..and I was invited to be the artist for the day and draw. I was So busy chatting I only did this one sketch! Apologies for my long absence. I've really missed being in here. ...was locked out for months and couldn't post no matter how I tried. tonight: Eureka!!! I was back. Hello again everybody :)))
Whalley is such a mix of interesting buildings and character and atmosphere. We considered buying a house there way back. Wish we had! I run Art Courses at the Abbey, there, from time to time. Drew this sitting in the car, as it was a cool day, after yet another trip to the solicitors whose premises back onto the car park. Fine gel pen, soft pencil, blue coloured pencil and Pentel brush pen.....
I'd been dropped off for an hour to shop in Pier Imports and thereabouts and was waiting to be picked up outside Barnes & Noble. How could I not draw the dark tangle of tree branches, lamps ans bridge. I'd loved it as we'd driven up. It would have been wamer waiting inside but braving the cold and standing, scribbling for 5 minutes at the kerbside was worth it!
The beginning of my long visit to the US spanning Christmas, New Year and beyond. Snow fell, the first of the year, on Christmas Eve morning. It was magical.. like a gift..and as I looked out of the window over the deck across the fields at the back I just had to draw it. Evening was just beginning to hover and I was so re;laxed and glad to be away..it just came..soft and free...
A chilling out day, For the first time I had the house to myself, apart from the dogs! So peaceful. I lounged snug against soft cushions and felt good.... This was what I was facing..and the more I looked..at the line patterns of the chandelier and huddle of candles and glasses on the table..and the softness of it all against the window, given strength by the black.. again.. I just had to draw. There were some wonderfully soft, intense coloured pencils around so I gave them a try...
Back at last!!! Drew this in my hospital room whilst waiting to go into theatre. Such a lovely peaceful atmosphere.. the white flowers and cards..sunlight streaming in and the birds singing their hearts out outside the window. Didn't get to finish it that afternoon. Finished it off in bed, here at home, yesterday... sunlight streaming in again and the birds, bless 'em.... still singing their hearts out outside..... Home now..and feeling better every day. Thankyou everyone for all your caring and support x Fine fountain pen and soft pencil. Took my pencil case in!

Students learned the names of the major bones of the human body and drew from observation using small, 24" scale models of the human skeleton. They were to focus on correct proportions and using value to create the illusion of three dimensions. They also experimented with layering using pastels in the background.

The example for my 2D Art class' skeleton drawing assignment. We are learning the names of the major bones of the human body, and drawing the skeleton with an emphasis on proportions. I worked on this during my down time during parent-teacher conference nights.
