A one- week project that explored innovative draping techniques. I was given fabric to work with and manipulate without initially having to cut anything off. I created new ways of transforming the form on a mannequin and drawing as I went along each change (November, 2014)
actually it's sort of a coral color. i have yet to find a color she doesn't look good in.

I had a lot of questions when I was looking at the statues about construction. I highly doubt there is a surviving Lycian garment at this point, so I had to hold fabric up to me to see how it would hang. On a person the weight of the fabric creates a natural neck, but on a doll using these materials the fabric wouldn't do that, so I pinned it in a curve. It ended up being straight because of the piece I had to put over the top, however.
