Boris Vian
I love being in the pottery with my camera. There is always something new to capture. These large 'piecemeal' bowls are ready to be fired...but I've watched them come into being bit by bit, much like a pieced quilt. Dramatic! cy365 day244
Slightly more dramatic representation of 20 Fenchurch Street than usual. It looks less of an eyesore when you start looking at sections of it up close!
Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake), dramatic in it’s framing of lava and ocean, is one of the places you must go when you visit the island of S. Miguel-Azores. Here the mountains provide a truly spectacular backdrop to this fabulous lake, which was formed from an ancient volcanic eruption.
The lake filling this crater contrasts with the breathtaking mountain range. The surrounding area of the lake contains vegetation of great botanical value and for this reason, in 1974, it received the designation of Natural Reserve.
From the viewpoints, which are 900 meters high, you have a full view of the lake. It is often cloudy here but if you are lucky the scenery is breath taking. Walkers may reach the lake along well travelled paths and at the bottom of the crater is this superb lake with white sand beaches and clear water.
Of all the beautiful lakes we have in this island, this one is my favourite ...
It was rainy last suturday. After the rain ,we took a walk and came across the rainbow in the evening. It is dramatic.

As we were photographing these cows, the late day sun came out and hit them with the sky still dark in the background. makes for cool shots.
Introducing the new Boeing Dreamliner 787-900 series, 20 feet longer than the current 800 series, with Japanese carrier ANA being the launch customer, seen above at the 2016 Farnborough international air show in July having just completed a demonstration flight, oh those curvy wings.
The demo aircraft has a special livery design featuring Mount Fuji with cherry blossoms, two iconic symbols of Japan.
On the return run from Jefferson Junction, UP 1440 rips past the east end of Rock siding heading home to Butler yard under some dramatic cloud cover.
The very name of a short vacation and "girls" weekend with a couple of very good friends who share the photography habit and love of the natural world. We were off to 4-wheel and hike for the flowers the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is famous for. Wildflowers are abundant with snow, rain and bugs.....all of which we encountered. The light could be dramatic, but it also was non-existent at times. We were a bit early for the peak bloom........but none of that diminished the wonderful time and the abundance of photos to come......
Christmas Day was stormy, and while most of the action was in the Valley, the Western Side put on a great show of the light dodging and burning the mountainsides...
I just really liked the picture. Just bored and made this. Comment if you use, or favorite this please :)
21.4.2011: detail from a sarcophagus decorated with garlands, cupids and tragic masks, 150-160AD, from Via Casali. Found in 1939. Cloister of Michelangelo, Museo Nazionale Romano, Terme di Diocleziano, Rome.
Went out today with Puggs, Mainly to try out my new Olympus E-5.
I had a great time, the camera itself is so much easier to use than the E-30 and the image Quality is amazing. Those of you with newer Olympus camera’s will know about the “Art” modes but how many have used them ( I know i didn’t). The E-5 has a new mode called “Dramatic” which i quite liked.
This is a shot of the Spirit of Tasmania which is a Large Ferry travelling between Melbourne and Devonport
This shot Uses the Dramatic mode mentioned above and is straight out of the camera. I’d like your opinions on this please

Homer: Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home. . . --Homer's Odyssey, Book I
