My travels around the UK by car for three weeks with my son. June/July 2019 England.
Day twelve .. On the edge of the Lake District...Near Greystoke where we are staying the night.
Greystoke is a village and civil parish on the edge of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England, about 4 miles west of Penrith. The village centres on a green surrounded by stone houses and cottages.
St Andrew's is a major church building due to its size, which is considerable for such a small parish. It was refounded as a collegiate church in 1382, by William, 14th Baron Greystoke, for a master, seven chaplains and six chantry priests. However the present building, in the Perpendicular style, is reckoned to date from the 16th and 17th centuries. It had a restoration in 1818, and then in 1848-49 it had another restoration under the architect Anthony Salvin. The nave is narrow, but the aisles are wide, with big windows, but it has no clerestory or west window. There are a number of effigies, including William, 14th Baron, and John, 16th Baron.
There is an impressive memorial to Henry Charles Howard of Greystoke, designed by Sir Robert Lorimer in the Arts and Crafts style, which dates from 1914. There are six bells which are hung for ringing in the English full-circle style.
The history of Greystoke Castle begins in the 12th Centrury when Ivo, grandson of local Saxon chieftain Llyulph, created the first stone structure on the site of the present castle in 1129. This building grew to become one of the border chain of fortifications, creating the huge Pele Tower, which in 1338 William de Greystoke obtained Royal Licence to castellate.
To the East of the village of Greystoke are three well known folly farmholds built about 1789 by Charles Howard (the 11th Duke of Norfolk) (1746-1815) of Greystoke Castle.

At this point, the radar indicated that the severe weather was north of my location by 20 miles or so. My hunch was that it was coming my way. The whirling clouds seemed a clear, albeit ominous, signal that things could get dicey in my area.
I haven't taken a Sackboy photo in a while. Why not do a dramatic lighting? :)

Clouds hugging Kuwait City, in dramatic weather, shows the highest tower in Kuwait,( Al Hamra Tower) , the peak covered by clouds, in moments with sun rays spread on the city and beach, to be a unique scene.
