All art is but imitation of nature.-- Seneca (Letters from a Stoic - Letter LXV: On the First Cause)

The universe itself is God and the universal outpouring of its soul. --Chrysippus (Quoted by Cicero in De Natura Deorum)

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun

Conspiring with him how to load and bless

With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;

To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,

And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;

To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells

With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,

And still more, later flowers for the bees,

Until they think warm days will never cease,

For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

✨ Photography Tip: To capture a powerful and dramatic portrait like this, focus on the interplay of light and shadow. Use a strong light source to highlight the subject’s features and create a sense of depth. Adding props, like the claws here, can enhance the storytelling aspect of the image.

Northwich (8E) depot's 1942 vintage Ex LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48151 departs York Station and crosses a flooded River Ouse via Scarborough Bridge en route to the coast.

Apart from the River in flood, this was also unusual for running on a Wednesday, rather than the normal Thursday.

A wider angle shot to try to capture the dramatic height of the river which reached a peak level of 3.7 meters.

Scarborough Bridge was designed and built by Robert Stephenson during 1845.

I’ve already included a photo or two of this one so thought I’d do a dramatic edit

I finally managed to get out again yesterday evening with my camera - the weather has just stopped me doing so.

I went to my favourite local sunset spot at Thornton Reservoir and arrived just a few minutes before sunset. The colours were amazing and with just a slight breeze across the water the reflections were quite good too.

Thank you for looking and for any comments you may leave, which as usual are much appreciated.

This is another frame from my series at Waterfront Park. I processed this a little differently than the others. While the sky was an amazing set of colours, the black and white scene gives it a completely different feel.

Well, it happens every day. Not always as dramatically.

Photo Series 1310 - WOMAN ARTISTS - Ginny Nightshade & Allix Mortis Part 16

Ginny Nightshade is as cute as a button on a straightjacket and is known for tantalizing audiences with her campy style. With an extensive background in theater and dance she lights up the stage with a flair for the dramatic.

In 2012 Ginny joined the Boston Burlesque scene where she's found a home with the city's collection of bold performance artists. This curvy creep's interests include: taxidermy, wine by the bottle, horror movies, puppies, and looking you in the eye while doing something fresh.

Ginny spent 2014 touring the country, doing some short-film work, and attending festivals. She won the Top Banana award at Alterna-TEASE Festival 2014 with her troupe The Slaughterhouse Sweethearts. She also joined forces with Allix Mortis to create their production company, The Midnight Mischief Cabaret.

You may have seen her performing solo across New England or with her troupes: the horror burlesque troupe The Slaughterhouse Sweethearts and The Glitter Bombs, Boston’s strip hop troupe.

Ginny is also a producer of Old School Game Show an alt- trivia variety show that's a live interactive theater experience with all the analog style and charm of a 1970's television game show!

That same year they also spoke on a panel about vegan burlesque at Burlycon, and won the "Community Spirit" award at Alternatease, the New England Neo-Burlesque festival. At the same festival they also guest-performed with "Top Banana" winners Rubenesque Burlesque, and "Judges' Choice" winners, Rogue Burlesque.

In 2014 Allix performed in the First International Nerdlesque Festival, returned to perform at Fierce, and made a debut at the Ohio International Burlesque Festival. In addition to their work as a burlesque and drag entertainer and emcee, Allix also fronts the band A Bunch of Jerks and sings with Johnny Blazes and the Pretty Boys. After briefly hovering, this tern’s unexpectedly began this ‘beak-first’ dive towards the water. The speed in which the tern changed from a horizontal hovering position to a vertical plunge was breathtaking.

Taken last Friday morning on a lovely and atmospheric riverside walk with Beefy, here is an intense and dramatic autumn sunrise over the Bow River Pathway, with a bit of the river itself showing on the right.

It was a bit cold, but not bad, nowhere near as cold as this week, and as you can see, the sunrise was magical!

Have an excellent Friday, my friends!

The temperature dropped dramatically, but the rain didn't amount to much.

A series of three shots taken of a family of Eagles. They are quite long shots of 500 feet or more but the results aren't too bad considering, I suppose you can't always get sharp close-up images of their nasal hair :0)
