Doughnuts from the Bread Ahead Bakery stall at the Canopy Market at Kings Cross. One had a chocolate filling, the other a Madagascan vanilla custard. Neither of them survived for much longer after I took this shot. Delicious!

A doughnut-shaped pavilion of wooden slats on stilts, #Untitled 158 offers a different perspective on the surrounding countryside. Light filtered inside, the quiet of the Limburg countryside interrupted by the creaking sound of your feet on the wood. Standing next to the vertical slats, the outside world becomes a natural slideshow as you look at the hamlet of Kerniel. “It’s a place that invites you to meditate on life,” they say.
#Untitled 158 is part of the “Pit” project; a series of nine outdoor artworks designed to make visitors look at the landscape differently, an initiative started in 2011 by Z33, the House for Contemporary Art in Hasselt, about 17km north of Borgloon. The project, which covers 20km, was designed as a half-day bike tour,or a full day for those travelling on foot.

Een donutvormig paviljoen van houten latten op palen, #Untitled 158 biedt een ander perspectief op het omliggende platteland. Licht filterde naar binnen, de rust van het Limburgse platteland onderbroken door het kraken van je voeten op het bos. Als je naast de verticale lamellen staat, wordt de buitenwereld een natuurlijke diavoorstelling als je naar het gehucht Kerniel kijkt. "Het is een plek die je uitnodigt om over het leven te mediteren", zeggen ze.
#Untitled 158 maakt deel uit van het "Pit" -project; een serie van negen buitenkunstwerken ontworpen om bezoekers op een andere manier naar het landschap te laten kijken, een initiatief dat in 2011 werd gestart door Z33, het Huis voor Hedendaagse Kunst in Hasselt. Het project, dat 20 km beslaat, was bedoeld als een fietstocht van een halve dag of een volledige dag voor mensen die te voet reizen.
