This sculpture is in a short pier at Brighton, when I saw it I thought it looks like a Doughnut, but in fact it is a The Big Green Bagel, which was given to Brighton as a gift from the Mayor of Naples, but known locally as the ‘Seasick Doughnut’.
Was debating using a more subtle square cropped version but went for this stronger image.
Been away for a over the weekend hope you had a great weekend.

During Carnival all different kinds of doughnuts are served in Germany. This one are made with curd (Quark) and dried cranberries
They were going to be the Simpson's doughnuts, but the tiles were a bit on the pricey side. These delicious danishes will have to do!
i dipped them into melted butter and then coated them with (too much) sugar. will try a glaze next time...

From my experience, there are two teams of doughnuts lovers. Some prefer the light-as-air, krispy kreme texture, while others like to battle with the chewier and denser relative.
These doughnuts fall in team#2. It is chewy, and moist, different from my previous donut attempts (Recipe from Aalan Ooi) which resulted in lighter donuts.This donuts from Alex Goh, employed the gelatinized dough method in which part of the flour was pre cooked with boiling water.
The kneading of this dough takes a considerably larger effort as the dough was tougher altho less sticky.
Both are good recipes. Just select the type of texture u like ur doughnuts to be and move from there.

Rob and I finally got around to checking out Doughnut Plant. I'm not really a huge doughnut fan but the pistachio doughnut on their site looked pretty interesting. Unfortunately they didn't have it. *sigh* Maybe next time...
