Simple self-portrait. I wanted to see if I could take a decent one.
Sorry I haven’t been on flickr or taking pictures lately!
I was doing pretty good at posting for a while there and then I suddenly became lazy again!
Forgive me! Mea Culpa!
Unfortunately, I will be gone for about a month in December for My family’s annual, annoying Christmas vacay.
On a normal day, I will be filled with rage, anger, and my hands will feel the need to strangle someone. Most likely, my sister. (Hahaha I laugh at my own jokes.)
Anyway, the point is, I might not be posting as regularly as I want to!
Love ya flickr!
(Oh yeah, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!)

I'm in Edinburgh at the moment, I'll be here until next Saturday, but I doubt I'll be able to do much car spotting
For Flickr Friday's 'I'm Only Human' theme. Kind of a departure for me. I don't usually do this sort of heavy duty compositing and it shows a bit. On the plus side it was also my first go with a homemade softbox (photography.tutsplus.com/tutorials/diy-how-to-make-a-prof...), which I was pretty happy with, though I ended up shooting the flash into it like an umbrella for the best effect.
Without a doubt the BEST fireworks display I have ever seen last night in celebration of our Country's independence day. The colors were absolutely amazing.

Without doubt 2 of the Gems of Harvey Scowcroft collection on the famous Chequerbent incline 6th August 1965
Freight traffic
The 1885 deviation eased the gradients somewhat, but the climb northwards from Atherton Bag Lane to Chequerbent remained arduous, with a nominal gradient of 1 in 30.5 for 1.6 miles - appreciably steeper than the Lickey Incline. This gradient was, however, purely nominal, as over the years colliery subsidence resulted in a continuous climb with an uneven gradient, including a stretch at 1 in 18.[11] This imposed severe restrictions on loads, locomotives and men[12] and resulted in this relative backwater becoming a Mecca for cameramen and film makers as dense loads such as sand were carried well into the 1960s.
Foto dentro un café que visité en un viaje que hice a Orizaba a finales del mes de Junio. Sin duda uno de los cafés más deliciosos que he probado. Tomada con el celular | Photo inside a cafe that I visited on a trip I made to Orizaba at the end of June. Without a doubt one of the most delicious coffees I've ever had. Photo taken with cell phone
It would nice if someone can identify this plant.
Wishing you all a most wonderful weekend.
We are expecting a winter storm to come our way. Hoping for a mild one.
Enjoy the snow if you are in the storm path. Take care.
Well SJ, I doubt its a golden line, but its a solution all the same.
Final version of this build. Sorry Shocky, but got rid of the stock. Im not a big recoil-tube fan myself, but the look lends itself well to the Wasteland feel. Added some detail to the saddle-style rail mounted red-dot. Shortened the foregrip, added some minor texturing to the rear grip, and some other little doohickeys here and there.
And no I didn't forget how to do Beck's rail shading, I just don't feel like doing it most times.
Credits on this one go to MrBleau for the waffling, I got the foregrip Idea from Robbe, and Beck as always for the rail shading. Anything I missed please let me know, I feel like I owe someone for the grip texturing.

Doubt anyone makes a trip to the Meridian Speedway hoping to shoot NS power, but the 52 SD70ACCs are about the only really interesting road power they have left now so this one instance when it didn't annoy me much. Of course, having 7 shots of the KCS F-units already in the bag from earlier helped that opinion out as well!
1804 and a fellow GE rebuild have no problem zipping the daily hotshot out of Atlanta west, highballing past Lake with it pegged on the 59mph limit.

Wow! That was a good year. To be completely honest, it never hits me how much Superhero minifigures I actually have until December 28th every year—it’s really the only time I dump out the bags, mix em’ together, and get everyone ready for an extremely long photo-shoot. My awe is no doubt related however to my recent acquisition of the newest DC wave; with so many characters I’ve only dreamed of owning; which only makes this year’s photo more special.
---
Year’s Past:
---
Here are some fun quick facts about this photo and my collection!
--Compared to last year’s grand total of 104 minifigures, this year my collection has grown to 161—an increase of 57 minifigures (more than 50%) over last year’s total. So far there has been an annual increase of over 50% in my Superhero collection—hopefully that doesn’t end anytime soon!
--There are 152 official minifigures shown here in addition to ten custom minifigures by five different customizers. And although this is a lot of figures, it's not actually all of the Superheroes I own—for some figures I have duplicates, and in other extreme cases such as the 2012 versions of Batman (Black Suit), Joker, and Spider-Man I have multiple duplicates; sometimes as much as five.
--Other increases can be seen in my Big-Figure department, where the total increased from one in 2013 to five this year. The amount of Black Mantas present also increased by a whopping one.
--The oldest minifigures shown here, those from the original Spider-Man line, date back to 2002 (Back when Superhero skin was yellow!); while the newest minifigures, those of the new Justice League themed Batman wave, are from December 2014. A difference of twelve years!
--When we divide up the grand total, we find that 103 minifigures belong to the DC Universe while only 58 belong to the Marvel Universe. This disproportionate number is indeed related to the Batman 1 line, which added many more figures to the DC line (The original Spider-Man line too adds figures to the Marvel side, but it does not nearly constitute the same affect). Custom minifigures are also disproportionate—only two of the ten customs present belong to the Marvel Universe.
--More than half of the minifigures shown here can be found in creations I have built—and that number is only going to increase as I start builds for 2015.
---
Yay that was fun! Well, not the photo-shoot; it’s such a pain to try and get everyone to look at the right moment…and fit in Deadpool’s selfie apparently. Ok everyone, back in the bags…no not you six…or you seven—you all have work to do…

"We are like the spider.
We weave our life and then move along in it.
We are like the dreamer who dreams and then lives in the dream.
This is true for the entire universe." ~ The Upanishads
The most puicturesque of La Hague's ports is without doubt Port Racine at Saint-Germain-des-Vaux, which is reputed to be the smallest port in France with an area of just 800 m2 and an entrance, between two jetties, just eleven metres wide.
Port Racine bears the name of one of the last pirates that prevailed under Napoleon, Captain François-Médard Racine (1774-1817). In early 1813, he chose this place as a strategic refuge. He built a pier to protect his ships from bad weather and to avoid detection by enemy ships while being able to quickly launch his schooner the the “Embuscade” (the “Ambush”) to attack ships rounding Cape La Hague or sailing to the Channel Islands. After the death of our hero, the wooden defences of Port Racine, although long maintained by fishermen, gradually disintegrated. After several petitions a stone port was finally constructed between 1870 and 1886.
Port Racine shelters the modest boats of local fishermen and fishing trip boats which are tied to ropes that run from one pier to another from a wooden bollard then passed through dike rings before all being tied onto the same post.
Port Racine is first and foremost a harbour for fishermen, with holidaymakers and pleasure craft coming along in summertime, when swimmers sunbathe on the rocks while walkers and hikers take a well-earned rest to contemplate the tiny port.

They say that hope is coming. They say that everything is going to change. Everything is going to get back to normal. But i don't believe anything of what the say. It's in my nature to doubt...

"Doubt swells and surges, with swelling doubt behind!
My soul in storm is but a tattered sail,
Streaming its ribbons on the torrent gale;
In calm, 'tis but a limp and flapping thing:
Oh! swell it with thy breath; make it a wing,
To sweep through thee the ocean, with thee the wind
Nor rest until in thee its haven it shall find........'
— George MacDonald
Sometimes OK more often than not I have serious doubts as to what gender is actually dominant. Yeah the anatomy says one thing but the rest screams something totally different. In all truth this should send my mental health into a tail spin but fo some reason it doesn't. At what point do we actually become the opposite to what we were born or is this the way I was meant to be.
Angkor Wat is without doubt one of the most incredible of the Cambodian heritage sites. Unlike any other Hindu temples & other Cambodian architecture, Angkor Wat faces west & hence to see the sun come up from the rear of Angkor Wat is one spectacular sight to behold. We checked out the twilight & sun rise timings & locations on "The Photographers' Ephemeris" & reached at the temple really early at 5:10 a.m.,to capture the visual, smiling all the while, at the thought that, we would be the very few ones there. We reached in pitch darkness, but Lo....there were at least five hundred people, all around the moat, with all the prime photographing spots taken! frown emoticon.
Not disturbed at this turn of events, we used our best of Surati "Jostling-Elbowing-through-D-Crowd-Ways," crunching a few toes, uttering apologies that we never meant, enhancing our vocabulary of the swear words from the world around & reached right in the front of the moat! Whew! We sat in the muddy corners of the moat, set the tripod real low & saw the clouds change from twilight purple to various shades of pink, burning saffron & a lovely aurum in an pastel azure sky.
Totally worth all the angry looks & muttered four letter words that we learnt, as the sun rays painted the sky aurum.
The sun sets in Hub City, gangsters on the prowl, victimizing the weak and poor, rising tensions between the U.S and Axis Powers, Roosevelt declared neutrality, though people doubt it will last long, but now we got back to the on shore crimes. Three gangsters waltz into a bank; their well shined shoes tap against the floor in a synchronized order. The staff in the bank freezes, seeing that these notorious scoundrels have decided to crash the party. Swing music plays from a record, but as they walk in it cuts short, as they realize the seriousness of this.
“Alright, I think you know what we want, I’m sure you read of our past escapades in the news, so you should know what we want” the bank tellers bring out the money and put it in a bag, as machine guns are painted directly at their head.
“Thanks, if our territory expands, we’ll make sure to go easy on you fellas” the mobsters share a laugh as they walk out the door, with barley any stress, is there any one that can save the day?
The taps of their shoes can be heard from a mile away, yet no one calls the officers, that’s because Hub City has been hit with hard times, and hasn’t been the same since the depression.
“So Charlie, what you gonna do with your cut?”
“I dunno Jones, but Zucco, what you gonna do with yours?”
“I got some money saved to move to Gotham, start anew, I gotta admit, Hub City has gone to crap” while it has gone to crap, there’s someone who will save it, and you’re about to learn who!
A shadow lurks over the three men, they don’t notice at first, but the mobster names Jones sees it out of the corner of his eye, he turns back slowly, like a jammed gear, desperately trying to move out of it’s one position. A look of confusion overcomes his face.
“Who the hell are yo-”suddenly the person jumps at him, giving him a swift punch to the face, following up with a roundhouse kick to the chest, and then two jabs, as he swipes his feet, knocking him down, just adding to the pain. He then lunges at the two other men, one of them holding a machine gun, he starts to divert his attention to him, the mobster named Zucco, he pulls the machine gun out of his hand and tosses it, then the punches him in the shoulder, at this point the other mobster, named Charlie, attempts to deliver a punch, but he dodges it, by speeding to the left, he then delivers a barrage of punches upon Zucco, followed with an uppercut, and kick to the chest, knocking him down for the count. Right after he turns his attention to the final gangster Charlie, he appears to be unarmed, but quickly pulls a firearm out of his suit.
The two stare at each other, as if their eyes themselves are interlocked in battle, at the base of it you all you see two men in suits, but one is fighting to stop corruption, the other champions it. But if you break it down to the most basic level, it’s yin and yang, one fighting for good, and one championing evil, things are different, yet stay the same. These two figures stand there, looking deep into each other’s eyes, both unsure of their fates, but knowing that it doesn’t matter, the only thing you can strive for in this is victory. A gust of wind picks up, blowing some dollars around, they swirl among our hero and villain, as if to resemble leaves from the autumnal season.
“So, you gonna make a move or what?” the mobster asks, as his hand begins to shake, nervous and unsure of the future, like a young man.
“I’m waiting for you, so whenever you want to let me test my powers go ahead."
BANG
The man grips his chest, looking like he’s in the worst pain imaginable.
“That’s what vigilantes like you get in this city, a shot in the chest” suddenly he regains his strength and removes his hand from his chest to reveal that there is no injury, and he swings his hand, throwing a device that resembles a throwing star, straight at him, it hits the gun, and he leaps in at him, a fury of punches land on his chest, like bombs landing on the surface of a war torn Europe.
“Who-who the hell are you?” he asks, hazily tired from being beaten by a mystery man.
"Me, oh you wouldn't know my name...yet, but tell your friends who defeated you, tell your friends who’s going clean up crime in Hub City, tell them it was THE BLUE BEETLE!”he lands one clean punch on his face, knocking him cold out. The police sirens wail and he escapes, now this mystery man will be known to the city, tune in next time to find out, THE ORIGIN OF THE BLUE BEETLE!

Well I hope you guys enjoyed that app for Dan Garrett in the DCSG, It would ideally take place in late 1939, and eventually go into WW2, it would show the DCSG's world back in the old days, and eventually intertwine with the other parts of the DCSG, just in case you were wondering, this was Dan's first costume, which was a rip off of the Green Hornet, since charleton (BB's original company) had a habit of doing that, and I like to think it's a tradition that continues to today. I hope that you enjoyed it and leave your feedback in the description below, and get ready for part two of the app, have a good day!
The Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition.
It's amazing to me how things can turn on a dime. One minute light is pouring in through the windows, the breeze is blowing the curtains, my prospects for the day seem bright. And then all at once, I'm lost in my limiting thoughts, doubting whether I can even take a good photo, wondering why in the hell I even started this project in the first place. I wish it wasn't so hard to snap myself out of it.
Even the cat seemed to know it was happening.
Maybe tomorrow will be better . . .
As street photographers we tend to meet a lot of them. As often as not they make our shots more interesting!
No doubt this spring alone you've already seen a thousand photos like this, but I'm just a sucker for pretty flowers.
I doubt if I join the phrase: "All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.", and I certainly don't want to say anything about the family of this lovely girl.
The slang phrase in Hebrew says: "When I was born, I cried; when I joined the army, I understood why". Though I didn’t join the army this year, and I am a well-mannered adult (or at least I hope so), I think this year challenged my wellbeing, too.
Let's hope that in a year from now we shall be at a better position…
Many thanks to AmandaK (http://www.flickr.com/photos/amandakay/) for editing tips. This was my first "urban session" with a family here in Knoxville and I loved it! This boy, Caleb, was the perfect little model. Check out the session here:
Taking this photo was freezing!! I basically ran home and put on warm pjs. Will I ever take nice, pretty pictures??? probably not.

I found myself without inspiration today, but I once found out that if ever in doubt, photograph Vader. I thank him for making this an photo evening to remember.
Without a doubt my spot of the year – I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this thing!
Although I've always known these as the UAZ-452, it turns out that UAZ dropped the '452' designation in the second half of the '80s, and the 'regular' version of the Bukhanka (as it's affectionately called) received the designation 3741.
This example has been registered with the Doovla as an UAZ 37419-05, which is incorrect, as the 37419 was powered by a 2.8L UMZ-4218 lump, whilst this one's engine capacity has been recorded as 2,693cc indicating it's fitted with a ZMZ-409 power plant.
This discrepancy aside, I am absolutely amazed how the design has remained effectively unchanged since the UAZ-452 was launched way back in 1965!!!
Curiously, despite having been presented for an MOT on the 29th April 2022, the van wasn't registered with the DVLA until the 1st June. Its current owner acquired the vehicle just 5 months later, and repainted it from green to this light grey.
A mere 8,531 kilometres on the odo!
"Why don't we have water in the pool?"
"Mom says there is a 'doubt'".
"You mean a drought?"
"No, a doubt. Mom doubts it's going to rain."
