Looking westward on the historic WMSR trackage, what used to be a fully double track route to Frostburg, just outside Cumberland the doubletrack singles down to one line as it continues upwards to Frostburg, Maryland
Hells Gate State Park contains some quite nice singletrack, and quite a bit of this broader trail. However, because you need to be concerned about goatheads, this is more "six parallel sets of singletrack" than a doubletrack or road.

Both main lines after the switch had been removed. This is part of the BNSF double tracking though Ballard to increase Sounder service.
The only short section of double track on the whole line (at the moment). A waiting room come office is currently being constructed here. The signal box is also receiving attention but currently empty.
the 3-circuit labyrinth, with doubled track - one leading in, the other leading out. for busy days when foot traffic is heavy. for when you want a different path for walking out.
