I discovered that if you use inverted bows on the underside of plates at a half-stud-offset, you can attach larger platforms to DOTS bracelets. This build uses the design technique to create a 'working' snowglobe, complete with small opalescent gems for *snow* effect.

I saw a card designed somewhere on flickr and really enjoyed it - so I tried to do my own take on it. I think combining this card and some elements of a card posted yesterday could make something interesting... thoughts?
A new lifer for me! This Dot-tailed Whiteface doesn't yet have his tail dot...but does have his white face. I felt very lucky to have spotted this fellow since he was the only one of the day. Allegheny County, Maryland.

Circa 1870's...
Admiral Dot was born in 1859 in San Francisco, California to Gabriel and Caroline Kahn. He was one of ten children born to the couple....two of his brothers were also dwarfs who performed with the circus using the names of Major Atom and General Pin. His mother was declared insane and confined to the mental asylum after she was caught trying to drown "General Pin"....
Admiral Dot worked as a circus performer from the 1870's until the turn of the 20th century. In the early 1890's, he married Lottie Naomi Smartwood, who was also a dwarf and fellow circus performer. The couple were the parents of two children, Hazel (1893-1918) and Gabriel (1896-1982)....
Admiral Dot died on October 29, 1918 of influenza at his home in White Plains, New York at the age of 59 years. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. His daughter, Hazel (born in 1893), also died of influenza just five days before him....

I just realized today how many polka dots I have in my wardrobe....its above average.

3 shirts
5 pairs of underwear
3 pairs socks
1 scarf
and this is just off of the top of my head.....
I think a lot of it is the swing dancing lifestyle....vintage-y look tends to be polka dots
ANYWAY I had the best interview of my life this week. You know it's a good interview when you walk out of it already knowing your (AWESOME) day rate and start date. As she was explaining the position, in my head I was just screaming OHMIGOD! I AM PERFECT FOR THIS JOB! YOU ARE GOING TO HIRE ME YOU ARE GOING TO HIRE ME!!!!
and....she did :) Such a pay off for all the hard underappreciated work I went through on another show....sigh. I am so excited.
I worked as a personal assistant for an international actresses' manager this week. I assist for her whenever her or her manager is in town a few weeks a year, which is a interesting change of pace. But god, it reminds every time that I would HATE to do this for a living year around. Your life is all about their life. I am constantly stunned at the petty things they make a priority. That the things they "need" are just unnecessary things they "want".
Well I'm working on a commercial on Monday and then heading to Denver to spend St. Paddy's with my boo and besties AND go to a MARCH MADNESS BBALL game with my Dad and my brother. <3

Another exercise I've "invented" for myself - to draw a white matte cube with rounded edges, like a rubber block or something. Here, I tried to use as few ink as I can, because I also have a tendency to "over-stroke" my drawings. Result is not perfect (right lower corner looks definitely darker and lacks the lighter area right on the edge), but I'm satisfied.
our daughter rachel and her wife megan have a sweet little tortoiseshell cat named martha dot (named after rachel's two grandmothers). martha has just been diagnosed with cancer. today we celebrate the still very vibrant little speen (rachel speak for cat) and hope that her time with us is just a little longer.

Kept the base pretty much the same, and although I adore the new silver shiny curvy tiles, I decided to stay Teal for the watery area. I added a frog and Lily Pad.
I hope you like my Bird. I was going to do a side brick built ... and doing a tiled/dot one ... went through about 5 designs before this one.
My jewelry ... well, let me tell ya ... I went looking through a few jewelry boxes and I found my Tinkerbell charm that I thought I lost 20 years ago! Yay! I had meant to put a LEGO ring in the Lily Pad, yet couldn't resist her :-)
My FFA Sweetheart charm bracelet, my Aviation Wings, a Key bag charm, and lovely gold earrings that have swirl Emerald dangling charms. The hoops can also be adorned with other charms (I have Onyx drops, gold Sun, and Amber cone-shape).
I could put a hanger higher, yet even then a necklace must double-up (as is the same with 41905).
