I'm trying to not be so precious with my sketchbooks and be a bit more free with what goes into them. I didn't know what to do with this collage when I finished it, so I decided to paste it into the sketchbook.
Tea stains and doodles (extra fine sharpie) with the addition of a reflective thought on the side.

Black and White Wednesday: Doodle
My daughter is the artist for these and I could not decide. She doodles constantly working on her various drawings.
Under the doughnut shape is some thread smush that I stitched down. The dark piece under the light piece in the center of the doughnut is a piece of rust I broke off the old horse trailer, and the light piece is something I found on the beach. I also stuck on a bit of hornet nest I found, and stitched the whole thing onto a little stick I picked up in the woods. The threads are rayon embroidery floss I purchased at a garage sale. They had a big bunch of them, I bought them all for $1.00.
I was doodling while talking to a colleague on the phone on friday, when I finished the conversation I found I had drawn this! I think I may need a holiday.
If you should go right now I want to see you but I don't know how
I slit this cut in the black expanding sky
The rain bleeds out before my jaded eyes
To live without your love I don't know how
Most of the doodles and scribbles in this set are from the quick-fire drawings that I make as part of my new Bedtime Drawing Regime, where I try and knock out as many sketches as I can in as short an amount of time as possible - just before I head off to sleep. I normally make between 5 and 10 drawings then turn in for the night. I find that the most interesting results come from just putting pen to paper and going for it without really thinking about what I'm about to draw. Some of them turn out quite well - others not so...
