A gusting wind drives a strand of Dusky Coral Pea vine into a lively dance, as well as roughening the water of a small lake nearby. It was "fun" shooting into the sun with a hand held 500mm mirror lens (fixed f8 aperture & shallow dof), trying to get some sort of balance between the dancing plant, and the big, mobile donut bokeh from the multitude of lake reflections. I quite like the overall effect. Uncropped.

On my hike yesterday, this deer and I happened to cross paths. I kept a good distance from her, but she kept an eye on me. Every so often she would stop grazing to strike a pose. I caught her in the middle of chewing here. I thought it funny, as she has the look of someone the paparazzi caught by surprise. Hopefully most of us wildlife photographers are less annoying than the celebrity photo crowd!

We had the briefest rain shower I think I have ever experienced today. It went by so quick, we didn't even notice it! I happened to want to play around with this Minolta lens I picked up, and caught some of the water on leaves.

So, first sample picture taken with the RMC Tokina 500mm f/8. The light was great and the setup really highlighted what this kind of lens can deliver for close focus distance : Donut bokeh ! Although here it remains fairly subtle. I also like the colors I got on this photo !
