It's taking me longer to prime this munchkin than I had originally hoped, because of some issues I've had with primers... I started off using a previously unopened can of Vallejo that I must have had since 2013, which was just fine. When it ran low, I went online to buy more, only to find that there didn't seem to be a single can in stock anywhere in the UK! In the end, I opted to buy some via Amazon, to be shipped from Italy. It arrived quickly and all seemed well - it sprayed on nicely and all. However, when I set about sanding it (I use wet sandpaper), the colour of the primer started to take on a green tinge?! I can't work out if Vallejo have changed the formula, or whether the can I bought may have been adversely affected somehow? - By heat, or something, perhaps?! I've since ordered another can, this time from Poland, but it hasn't arrived yet >_< I'm also going to pick up some Tamiya primer this week as well, just in case. I haven't worked with Tamiya before, only because its toxicity scares me... so I've also ordered what I hope is a reliable respirator!! Gah, I really want to just get her done and away!!!

Baxter The Cat's POV-
Everything was a blur, the evil witch had tried to pounce on my food giver. I sprung into action and pounced back and then the next thing we knew we were flying through yet another portal. On the other end of it I craved grass...more so than normal. To my suprise I had grown as well. It's not all bad though, it is peaceful here. The Food Giver has told me she will find a way to change me back. At least now there is more food, although I long for that can of tuna she keeps promising me. On to the next portal and home soon we hope. Hopefully this is the end of that wicked witch.

'Jan McLean is a doll-maker from Dunedin in New Zealand. She is regarded as one of the world's top dollmakers. McLean's first dolls, "Chloe" and "Phoebe" were created in 1987. By 1991, she was exhibiting at the New York Toy Fair, where her doll "Pansy" won a Dolls Award for Excellence.
Many of McLean's dolls are limited edition dolls made of porcelain, but in recent years she has expanded to produce more affordable dolls in vinyl. These - the Lollipop Girls - are smaller versions of the porcelain originals and are intended as being "upmarket competition for Barbie".' (Wikipedia)

Drury- Ok, ok. Maybe I did inspire a few C-Listers but really, what’s the harm?
Dent- What’s the harm? Mr Walker, before you, supervillainy was an art form, it was something you turned to out of a necessity, perhaps for the thrill of it, after being shunned by society, spat on by the masses. When you became a supervillain you became something to be feared: Edward Nashton, Oswald Cobblepot, Basil Karlo, may he rest in peace. These are the names that give children nightmares and yet: they had class, they garnered respect from the inmates of Blackgate Prison. Until you came along. Once you put in crooks heads anyone could be ‘super’, they all started crawling out of the woodwork. The Joker will always be feared. The Eraser never will be. C-Listers proved supervillains could be laughed at, could be hurt, could be killed. And people stopped being scared. They reopened Arkham just to house you morons! So the ante had to be upped, in order to regain that fear. Victor Zsasz keeps a count of victims all over his body, hundreds of tallies, hundreds of kills! Dollmaker made a patchwork of body parts from still breathing Arkham Guards! Roman Sionis butchered Catwoman’s family and made her sister eat her husband’s eyes! His fucking eyes! You did this! So, every time Killer Croc chows down on some missing kid, just remember, that’s on you!
Drury- I thought I was on trial for creating nobodies. I didn’t realise we were studying supervillainy throughout time.
Anarky- You are. And for creating these extremists. Joker wouldn’t have cut off his face if you didn’t make them all into laughing stocks! I speak for justice. Against corruption and cruelty! Aurora is a 16 inch, third generation Inamorata art doll with an athletic body inspired by ballet dancers. It was wonderful to finally explore the new realistic posing possibilities of this new body type.
Aurora features the Shani head sculpt, Latte resin tone and large bust type Inamorata 3.0 body. She has two wigs in wheat blond mohair: a ballet chignon and a side parted long hair flowing free. The outfit is something I quickly stitched together for the photoshoot from an old T-shirt, trying to portray the comfortable training clothes ballerinas wear during their grueling hours of hard work.
My favourite photos ended up being, not the elegant dance poses, but the ones about human frailty, a ballerina sitting slumped down and tired, massaging her aching feet.

Okay! If you’re not on Instagram, and not in Barbie-collecting circles on Instagram: there is (was?) a trend going around there called the #sparemoonbarbiechallenge . TRANSLATION FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT SPEAK THE HASHTAG LANGUAGE: “Use this 1990s-style Barbie-influenced dollmaker, created by this artist who uses the handle ‘sparemoon’, to make a self-portrait, and sorry to you if you’re a masculine type man guy person dude.”
This is what I did for it. I think I slightly rushed it...if I had made this on my PC rather than my phone, it probably would have more detail. But OH WELL; consider me a basic $5 doll you picked up at KayBee Toys with the remaining scraps of your birthday and tooth fairy money. 😆 I think this came out pretty cute! I wish I had those glasses in real life. And that shirt. And that skin. And the lack of a double-chin. And hair that was that compliant. But anyway. sen has been ignored for a long while in favour of my graduation projects and thesis, however, I'm working on this head again! I have been trying to create a head-to-neck system that would click together, but after a couple of failed attempts and a big amount of frustration (it's just so small? how do people do this? props to all of you mini dollmakers out there), I have sanded everything down and decided on simply using very strong magnets instead (together, they should have an adhesive force of about a kilogram). with this decision made, I only have some last surface finishing left to do! : )

gives me the energy to continue.

She was so excited when she and her family finally arrived at their destination. In the quaint little seaside town, where they were to spend two whole months of the summer, was also the home and the workshop of a world-famous dollmaker, whom she has read a lot about. She was determined to pay a visit as soon as possible and order her very own life-size doll, for the kind the reclusive man received such accolades.
She got her chance the very next day and slipped away, while her parents were in town settling some legal matters, and all the servants were busy unpacking. It wasn't hard to find the workshop, though she briefly wondered about the strange looks she received from the locals when she asked for directions. In her excitement, she soon put all that out of her mind, and breathlessly knocked on the door.
She received no answer, but when she knocked, the door slightly swung inward, indicating that it was unlatched. Curiosity taking hold of her she pushed the door open and entered the gloomy interior. She found herself in a large room, filled with everything one would expect to see in a doll maker's workshop. Body parts in different shapes and sizes, some made of wood, some from porcelain, work tables piled high with bolts of fabric, boxes filled with glass eyes and sundry accessories, and shelves upon shelves displaying finished dolls ranging from only a few inches high to around 3 feet, but none of them were the life-sized, grown-up dolls that she read about.
That's when she noticed the curtained-off exit at the far end of the room and the greenish light seeping through around the edges of the fabric. Thinking that what she is looking for might be hidden back there, she decided to have a look.
She wasn't prepared for what she saw in that room. Large metal tanks droning softly in the back of the room, various complicated looking machines buzzing with electricity, jars containing strange things that were swimming in murky liquid, beakers, and vials full of a vibrant, glowing substance that appeared to pulse as if alive. An untidy writing desk with lots of little drawers, the writing surface littered with books on various subjects, papers filled with a cramped script and strange anatomic drawings, vials with powders or liquids, whole and crushed crystals, and all of this mixed up together as if a madman was feverishly at work.
Next to the desk was a cabinet, on which she noted a doctor's bag, a tray filled with surgical instruments, vials of various fast acting narcotics and several syringes among sundry other paraphernalia. She just stared at it all with her mouth and eyes wide open, her delicate fingers trembling at her bottom lip while she slowly took one tentative step after another. Her instincts were screaming at her to turn around and run from there as fast as she could, but her morbid curiosity kept her moving on till she stood in front of a large armoire filled with little labeled jars.
Little did she know that it was already too late to run, for she had been observed since she first set foot inside the workshop. The Dollmaker himself was stood behind the curtain now, half hidden, watching her, waiting till she had her back to him fully. Once she stood in front of the armoire he made his move and soundlessly approached her, picking up a vial of Morphine and a syringe from the cabinet as he passed.
So engrossed she was in trying to decipher the labels on the little jars that she didn't notice his approach. By the time she felt the sting on her neck, it was already too late. The last thing she saw as she spun around was the smiling face of the Dollmaker, which fast became blurry and began to waver before everything went dark. She felt him catch her and pick her up, and thought how surprisingly strong he was for someone so wiry, then wondered why she would think that about someone who just attacked her. Then she wasn't thinking anything at all.

The sculpt is outstanding,very elegant, gentle muscle tone and good proportions. Her facial expressions seem to change with each tilt of her head. Good quality heavy resin. The joints well engineered and she holds her poses well. Her wig is perfect, not too full, and the colours complement her skintone.
