She really wanted to know what I was doing. She took a couple of steps toward me and stomped the ground.
My father-in-law took me out to a deer blind and dropped me off so I could shoot some deer today. Kinda funny way to spend Christmas Eve huh?

Isn't she pretty? I love how deer freeze when they see you. And just long enough for you to get a few pics. I think she thought i was going to shoot her though...
Ok...I know I have been taking a lot of shots of the deer, but this duo just stood on the other side of the pond and posed for us on our early morning photo Safari today.
Couldn't resist.
We also roused the doe with twins...they were totally not prepared for intruders so early in the morning and were in great disarray.
We did see all the herons, and tried hard to spot the otter, but he was too quick for more than a quick glimpse.
Tomorrow I will try for a 6:30 start, but the birds seem ready to move with the sun. Maybe if I sit still at the pond, they can all come to me.
Spent a few days on the Sonoma Coast during this record breaking terrific weather we had last week. (Just had to rub that in for friends and family in the mid-west...) This doe had a yearling and two others right outside our cabin.
