While staying at Medina Lake Thousand Trails near San Antonio, scenes similar to this were repeated numerous times either when we looked out the windows of our motorhome or went walking. (14-02-25-5681)

A doe in great condition at mid-winter. Last year the acorn crop was a bust and at this time you could count the ribs on the does. This year acorns abound and the whitetails are fat and sassy. Almost all the mature does like this one are pregnant. Can't wait for the little spotted fawns to arrive. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

Happy Earth Day, everyone.

A lame doe Blacktail deer and this years fawn. The doe may have been the victim of a vehicle accident. Still year after year she has had twins until this year.

Forest friends...loving the does and fawns.
