there are several ways available to donate and support aid workers providing relief in haiti.
in canada, the cbc has a page, "haiti relief", listing several ways to donate in canada, including doctors without borders and the canadian red cross.
note: the canadian government will be matching donations up to $50 million
in the united states, you can text the word "HAITI" to 90999 to donate to the red cross international relief ($10 is added to your monthly phone bill). you can also donate directly to the american red cross. you can text "haiti" to 20222, to donate $10 through the clinton foundation. see also the article "10 ways you can donate" for more options...

internationally, oxfam has provided a web site where you can make donations for varying sums... every little bit helps...

silly old me thought it was not right for the penguins to sit up on the porch whilst the snow was falling. so, for the first time in a while, i put them out. they're safely back up on the porch now, brushed free of the light dusting of snow.

Thinking of all the victims and survivors. A massive earthquake (8.8 on the Righter scale) has hit Chile. Even the aftershock was massive, measuring 6.2.

Inmediatamente me hicieron cambiar al teleobjetivo y forzar una velocidad alta que congelase su frecuencia (parpadeo) hasta hacerlo visible en forma de esos tonos amarillentos que colorean el sol artificial de Japón.

These neons crown one of the buildings in Dotombori in Namba (Osaka). Immediately they made me change my lens and switch my camera to a higher speed to be able to catch the yellowy tones that colour the artificial sun in Japan.
