Hello Everyone,
Most of you are probably aware that the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. It has become a symbol of the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people during the invasion by Russia. I can't tell you how many tears that I have shed as these brave people fight for their lives and their country. I do so hope and pray that the Ukrainians will prevail, but they need all the help that they can get.
Oftentimes we can feel quite powerless to do anything, but you CAN help the Ukrainians in the way of donations, no matter how big or small. There are many reputable organizations from which to choose and I have listed a few of them for your reference.

I'm putting up an image for auction, to run until end of January 24, 2010, 11:59:59 p.m. MST (because I'm too stupid to figure out your time zone). I'm thinking 18"x12" print, unmounted, on professional paper, but if you want smaller, let me know. I get it printed and ship it to you.

I recently spent time in three leprosy colonies where untrained volunteers cut through the dead skin of the feet of people with Leprosy. This alleviates some of the pain because although lepers do not feel their lesions the lesions do start to ulcerate and cause pain locally. Under poor lighting and in filthy surroundings this was being done
at all the centers.

Giving doesn't only mean money. I've visited Presbyterians missions worldwide to provide emotional and monetary support to let these selfless people who work for peanuts helping those who have no voice and no medical help in their countries, know their actions are not overlooked and are what makes the difference to so many millions of the downtrodden & disenfranchised worldwide.
17- Most recently i am involved with the CATHOLIC CHURCH in INDIA helping build homes for LEPERS and their children and schools for the children. The stigma of LEPROSY is huge and though CHILDREN do not have the disease due to ignorance they are not allowed in the general population.
This is being done in PURI, in the state of ORISSA in INDIA.

The Spoonful of Sugar event has just begun and will run through September 18. This event is a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres, a highly worthy cause. MSF is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization delivering medical aid to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, and natural and man-made disasters in over 70 countries.

Po raz pierwszy od 29 lat, na tory LHS-u wjechał pierwszy pociąg pasażerski od Wschodu (Ukrainy) wioząc uchodźców uciekających z Agresji Rosyjskiej. Pociąg ten wracał tego samego dnia, jadąc z pudełkami pełne jedzenia, kosmetyków, koców, ubrań itp. Relacja tego pociągu jest Kijów - Olkusz.
Udało mi się uchwycić ten jakże ciekawy i ważny skład jak wracał ze Sławkowa na Ukrainę.

For the first time in 29 years, an passenger train from (Ukraine) has entered LHS trackage, carrying refugees fleeing from the war that is currently occupying the country (Russian Agression). This train returned on the same day with boxes full of food, cosmetics, blankets, clothes, etc. Everything that is needed for an human being to survive. All of the food, blankets, clothes etc. are heading west to help our neighbouring brothers in need! This supply is also heading to the Ukrainian Citizens that have just entered Poland.
I managed to capture this very interesting and important train when it was returning from the end of the LHS mainline in Sławków, Poland to Ukraine.

The SOS Benefit Festival for (MSF) Doctor's without Borders is in full swing now through September 29th
The event is 6 sims large with over 200 participating stores, raffles, and special events. The theme this year is North Africa - and it is a stunning build!

The Rohingyas are a Muslim minority from the North Rakhine State in western Burma. Over the past forty years, the Burmese government has systematically stripped over 1 million Rohingya of their citizenship. Recognized as one of the most oppressed ethnic groups in the world, the Rohingya are granted few social, economic and civil rights. They are subjected to forced labor, arbitrary land seizure, religious persecution, extortion, the freedom to travel, and the right to marry. Because of the abuse they endure in Burma, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have fled Burma to seek sanctuary in neighboring Bangladesh. In the refugee camps along the south east coast where they settle, most are not recognized as refugees and are considered illegal economic migrants. Unwanted and unwelcome, they receive little or no humanitarian assistance and are vulnerable to exploitation and harassment. In recent years, the Rohingya have paid brokers to smuggle them by boat from Bangladesh to Malaysia and even beyond to Australia, sparking the attention of governments throughout the region.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has confirmed that the statelessness of the Rohingya is not just a Burma-related problem, but a problem with larger regional implications.

I'm auctioning an unframed, signed 20 x 20" print of passionate earth, the namesake of my "Passionate Earth" series. The photo is printed on Kodak Endura Professional paper with a metallic finish, and it's absolutely gorgeous. My parents actually have a framed 20x20" of this very print in their den.
