One of the lifting bridges into Surrey Commercial Docks. This bridge in Rotherhithe Street, Rotherhithe, was over the entrance from the Thames into a dock basin. The basin is now called Surrey Water.
Bad Form Flickr, Shadwell in on the North side of the River Thames, next to Wapping, Surrey Docks were South of the Thames in Rotherhithe.

The main part of the docks in the city - this photo was taken on a Monday morning, so unsurprisingly it wasn't that busy around these parts. I think much of this area has also been redeveloped in more recent times.
This is the docks at avonmouth.
Wanted to get closer to the main docks, but security prevented it!
Luckily managed to get this sunset shot of the dock cranes, taken from a nearby railway bridge.
The Florida Sea Grant Team in the Gainesville Office took a field trip to the sponge docks at Tarpon Springs. They took out a tour boat along the river to learn about the historical diving practices and toured the Acme Sponge factory, where Jim Cantonis, a member of Florida Sea Grant's advisory board, explained how the sponges are processed before they head to retail outlets.
Kings Dock Port of Liverpool was designed by Henry Berry and opened in 1785. Further warehouse buildings were added by John Foster, Sr.. The dock was closed in 1972 and the branch docks have been filled in.
In 2008 completed regeneration of King's Waterfront, adjacent to the Albert Dock, became an exemplary case of successful brownfield land development. As a result of this project, leisure, residential and conference facilities have been developed including 11,000-seat capacity Echo Arena Liverpool and convention centre officially opened in January 2008 when Liverpool's year of European Capital of Culture.

Assignment 52 challenge- play with cropping (plus show original).
One of Dazzle's favorite activities. But given the configuration of the dock he's jumping off of, I can't get close to get a profile jump shot. So this is a crop to make him more of the focus of the shot.
