From Dry Dock to Museum and Coffee Shop! They were still building this when we visited 4 years ago, but already this space, once you descended into the old dry dock, gave you opportunity to get out of the biting wind.

Victoria Dock (Hobart)
Victoria Dock, in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, is a key dock for Australian Antarctic supply vessels and one of the oldest docks in Tasmania.
History:
Victoria Dock was built in 1891. It is the home dock of most of Tasmanian fishing commercial boats which ply their trade along the state's coasts. Reference Page 373 Book by R.J. Sullivan "Urbanisation".
Location in Hobart:
Victoria Dock is located on the waterfront of Hobart at harbour side docks on the Derwent River. The dock is adjacent to other Hobart landmark areas such as Constitution Dock, Port Tower Building, Salamanca Place, Battery Point, and forms part of the foreshore of Sullivans Cove.
Restaurants:
Victoria Dock also has restaurants which sell fresh seafood caught by local fishermen.

I found this sea lion resting on one of the boat docks in the harbor. I think he enjoyed all the attention he was getting from me, my camera and the other people who were out that day.
Another shot of the Prince of Wales Dock. The dock used to be an unloading area for coal ships which tied up where the houses are now situated. A friend of mine used to work in the holds of the ship cleaning up after the coal was unloaded. Hard work in those days. Sadly he is no longer with us.
Seen at the same location as previous Photo. Better known as the "Fish Dock" it shows the hustle and bustle of this busy Dock which was the home of Hulls Trawling Fleet, It was closed in 1975. One half is silted up an overgrown, The other half is called St Andrews Quay which is now a big Shopping outlet.
