I Docks, progettati dall'ing.

Maya dock diving today. I brought Kendra and the camera along, these photos ended up a bit blurry but I tried to cover it up a bit with a vintage look. ;)
I think Maya is starting to have a little bit of a "Pop" off the dock!

The development of Falmouth Docks began in 1858 and the foundation stone was laid by Viscount Falmouth in 1860 although the location of this stone is not known. The first ship to enter the docks arrived in 1861.
The Docks are currently managed and operated by A&P. At present Falmouth has three graving docks that provide up to 100,000 dwt dry dock capacity. There is a total wharfage with craneage and all other technical services, of 2.5km.
The docks are about to embark on an exciting phase of redevelopment that it is envisaged will include a world class 300 berth marina called Port Falmouth Marina. This will herald a new phase in the history of Falmouth Docks that will see new investment bringing benefits, not just for Falmouth, but the whole of Cornwall.
The regeneration plans include the provision of a new cruise liner terminal capable of accommodating the latest super cruisers. These plans are currently under assessment.

The Corps' Combat Development Command is based here, which develops strategies for Marine combat, and makes up most of the community of over 12,000 military and civilian personnel, including families. It has a budget of around $300 million. The Marine Corps Research Center at Quantico pursues equipment R&D, especially telecommunications, for the Marine Corps. Since its inception in 1917, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, has been the "frontline of innovation." Marine concepts, doctrine, training, and equipment of the future are initiated aboard the Base. The techniques of amphibious warfare, for which the Corps is renowned, were conceived and perfected here. The tactics of close-air support and vertical envelopment using helicopters were also developed within its borders. As attention is focused on future battlefields, the Marine Corps and other branches of Service are looking to Quantico to lead the way with technological advances as well as creative and innovative thinking.
Quantico also serves as the focal point for professional military education. The Marine Corps University provides the academic platform the Corps uses to shape and hone leaders at every milestone of their professional lives. Officers in the Marine Corps begin their careers at the Officer Candidates School and The Basic School. Enlisted marines receive additional leadership training at the University's Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. The Marine Corps War College, School of Advanced Warfighting and Amphibious Warfighting School are also part of the University, training officers in the U.S. Armed Forces and international officers from designated foreign countries in the art of war.
Whether assigned to Quantico as a student or as a permanent personnel, you will become part of a community that reflects professional character while enjoying an off-duty environment with many social, civic, and professional opportunities.
Marine Corps Base Quantico is home to the Marine Corps Combat Development Command and numerous tenant organizations. The base staff provides infrastructure, operational, and community services support to these organizations and to the military members, families, and civilians who live and work on base. The base is also a key player in support of overall Marine Corps objectives and programs, and plays host to scores of training events, conferences, symposia, and other special events.
Britain's most inland port is Gloucester docks, located at the northern junction of the River Severn with the Gloucester and Sharpness canal. The docks were formed when the canal from Sharpness opened in 1827 bypassing a difficult stretch of the Severn.
The docks is a conservation area and the Grade II listed warehouses have been renovated to create flats, offices, bars and restaurants. The dock area includes the National Waterways Museum and the Soldiers of Gloucester Museum.
