Staten Island Ferry dock, at the Staten Island ferry terminal in New York City.

The pattern of these repeating posts caught my eye while I was waiting to disembark from the ferry. I don't usually do much with black and white photos, but that seemed the best way to emphasize the pattern that caught my eye. I may have to clone those wires out; I tried to find a shot where they weren't so obvious, but the effect wasn't quite right.

This is one of the two docks of the Saugatuck Chain Ferry. You can see the chain which is attached to the ferry and the other dock.

The dock bug is common and widespread in the southern half of Britain. The larvae feed on dock and other related plants in the polygonaceae family. The bugs here are on a bramble bush in Loughborough, near where Haddon Way becomes Highland Drive.
