Yes, do not disturb (was my first thought), or, there is magic in every beginning, finally snowfall!

I have a nice memory with my goddaughter Leonie of this forest lake. We were often here, even in the depths of winter. Of course Lady Amalthea, the pink unicorn, was with us too. Oh oh, then the unicorn fell into the water. Leonie, close to tears, called out: "Greta Greta, you have to save her!" I grabbed a long branch that was lying on the bank and was able to fish the stuffed animal out of the lake. Leonie sighed and thanked me. I said: "Luckily I didn't have to jump into the ice-cold water, otherwise I would soon have the flu!" To which Leonie said: "Yes and luckily you're a woman!"

LOL

I asked: "What does that have to do with it?"

Leonie said: "Daddy has the man flu right now, and Mom said that it's much, much more worse!"

OMG, what a lucky I am, you know what I mean?

Happy Monday, everyone out there ;-)

In the heart of a dense forest, a half-elf named Rya woke up with no memory of her past. She knew nothing about herself, except her name, and that she possessed strange markings on her skin that seemed to glow in the dark.

Lost and confused, Rya wandered the forest, hoping to find some answers about her identity. She came across a group of travelers who were making their way to a nearby village. They offered to take her with them, and she gratefully accepted.

The villagers were friendly and welcoming, but they too were puzzled by Rya's markings. They told her about an old sage who lived deep in the forest, who might be able to help her uncover the secrets of her past.

With renewed hope, Rya set out to find the sage. After days of wandering through the forest, she finally stumbled upon a hidden cave that led to the sage's dwelling.

The sage was a kind and wise old man who had spent many years studying ancient texts and artifacts. He examined Rya's markings and told her that they were a symbol of great power and magic, but he could not discern their purpose.

Despite his best efforts, the sage could not help Rya unlock her memories. He feared that she might never know the secrets of her past, but he encouraged her to embrace her unique abilities and use them for good.

Rya settled in the village, working hard to earn her keep and make a life for herself. She learned to control her magic and discovered that she had a talent for healing. The villagers came to rely on her for her skills and kindness, and she became a respected member of their community.

Years went by, and Rya continued to live a peaceful life in the forest. She never did uncover the secrets of her past, but she learned to accept that some things are meant to remain a mystery. She was content knowing that she had found a place where she belonged and had made a difference in the lives of others.

Conrail B36-7 5013 leads a couple of C40-8W's on train DNDS departing East Conway in Baden, PA on September 4, 1992. There is an Eastbound intermodal train to the left getting a crew change and a Westbound intermodal train passes by on the right. Those GE's could sure put on a decent smoke show.

I wanted to pay homage to the best role playing game ever created (in my opinion). My kids, friends and I spend time together having some fun most Friday nights playing Dungeons and Dragons. I’m just happy they let me play :)

From our collection we use for our DnD game we started during COVID with my son home from University. A Chull monster and a Tortle hero. One of the things that has gotten us through the last couple of years...I painted the 'tortle' and my son painted the 'chull' with sand base.

Kinda ironic considering we're on SL, but ah well.

Out of my way, girl!

Same to you, girl! I'm not afraid of you!

You better were, I'm with the King's Guard!

Ha, and I'm with the Queen's Guard!

(sheathes weapon) We have a queen's guard?

We better have, otherwise I'd be a liar...

Who cares? It's late and I'm on my way home.

Right you are. Fancy a drink somewhere?

Year of the Dragon: November

This month is based on a jellyfish! Super weird creatures that I got really inspired by when visiting an aquarium in Kyoto.

Unfortunately though, I had quite a bit of creative block this month, It happens! And at 10 dragons in, I'm honestly surprised it didn't happen earlier.

Wasn't until fairly late into the build for this one that it finally started shaping up into something I was happy with. Turns out relying on big clear parts as key shaping elements presented a lot of challenges.

I think the final effect is really cool though! It looks appropriately jelly like and I had a lot of fun playing with different textures for the various tendrils and such. Also I'm well aware that jellyfish don't have brains, but I couldn't resist including the new brain creature piece from the Mindflayer DnD minifig 😁

Only one dragon left now! Stay tuned...

I never cared much about minifigs - aside from them being a source of minifig hands, which are a crucial building component for me whenever I use flex hoses.

Yet when I saw the Collectible DnD Minifig Series, I bought one full set... then another... and then lots and lots of assorted minifigs and parts. This coincided with me playing Baldur's Gate 3, one of the best cRPG games I have ever played, set in DnD franchise.

This caused - for the first time in my AFOL career - minifigs being in the spotlight.

I first made some basic experiments with different parts, then started making stands, then started making poses.

In few cases I cut pieces (but not minifig pieces!) and used tiny bits of modelling clay to attach them to armor.

While I still prefer building large-scale figures, this was a refreshing excercise and unlikely to be the last time I played with minifigs!
