I went out dive bar hopping with two friends this weekend for my friend Amy's birthday. I took the Olympus E-P2 with me cause of course I can't go anywhere without a camera.
Billymark's West in #Chelsea is a classic #dive bar. The #bar was established in 1956 ands has been owned by brothers Billy and Mark Penza since 1999. It serves cheap bottled #beer and #liquor and has nothing on tap but does have a pool table and jukebox. We love the simplicity of this #storefront and #signage. #divebar

That is the full name of this "western dive bar" on Route 66 in Williams, Arizona. It is the oldest bar in the state.

This infamous #divebar aka Red Windmill Bar, owned by Luis Rodriguez has a very shady past as it was the site of attempted murders and was frequented by drug smugglers and crooked police officers 👮 in the 1980s #MiamiVice era. We love its #handpainted sign and overhanging #signage that once had chaser lights trimming it.
Austin, Texas. Somehow, I've never been in, but I understand the theme continues. Alas, it's a set-up bar, and I don't fancy bringing in my own liquor, or drinking beer.
Marathon Monday, late afternoon at The Silhouette, there were (as expected) some local kids doing some drinking. I normally don't approach strangers for photographs, but the light was right and this young Steve Perry look-alike and his girlfriend only seemed slightly creeped out by me and my camera.
This restaurant/bar is located at 950 Mei Ling Way in Chinatown. Los Angeles, CA.
Also featured in the classic *cough cough* film "Beverly Hills Ninja."

The Star Lite Room is a small local North Hollywood dive/lounge that serves up cheap drinks, they also have a pretty cool old bulb & neon sign out front so you'll know where to find this joint, It also sits right next to Henry's taco stand so if you also need a snack you don't have very far to walk for one ....... Update 2013 the bar has been sold and a name change will ensue ........ also Henry's Tacos was forced to move ........ So basically two of the oldest business in Studio City are forever changed

One of the last LA downtown dive bars left, It was opened by former prizefighter Hank Holzer in 1959 and didn't change much since then, earlier this year it was abruptly closed in Feb but has since reopened
Great old bar just off Times Square in Manhattan.

After 47 years, this legendary bar closed down at the end of January 2012. Regulars got together to celebrate its history and revel in the glow of its holiday lights.
