Данная диссертация посвящена исследованию орнитофауны юга Карелии (главным образом, Онежско-Ладожского перешейка). Автор детально описывает видовой состав птиц, анализирует особенности их распределения по лесным биотопам, характеризует сроки размножения, миграции, кочевки, линьки и других периодических явлений в жизни птиц, подробно изучает рацион их питания. Нейфельдт И.А. описывает природу названного края, которая имеет ряд специфических черт, оказывающих непосредственное влияние на состав и распределение авиафауны. Огромный интерес, даже у не специалистов в этой области, вызывает второй том диссертации, который представлен великолепным фотоальбомом нестандартного размера. В нем размещены авторские фотографии птиц южной Карелии и мест их обитания.

Автор этого исследования поставил перед собой задачу – раскрыть методы, которыми создавались блестящие образы архитектуры конца XVII века, показать, как русские архитекторы XVII века умели перерабатывать и отбирать уже ранее сложившиеся архитектурные формы. Одним из выдающихся памятников последней четверти XVII века является церковь Воскресения в Кадашах, необычайная по своим архитектурным формам, но, несомненно, глубоко национальная и народная. Диссертация написана в двух томах. Второй том уникален по своему оформлению и содержанию. Он представлен фотографиями, планами, чертежами не только исследуемой церкви, но и других соборов и церквей Москвы.

Our daughter Charlotte has been working on ger dissertation which she finally submitted today. With lockdown however, she had to submit it virtually. Her sister made her a ‘dropbox’ for her to put it in, so we had a bit of a thing in the garden so she could mark the end of her studies. After 5 months of working on my dissertation, I am finally drafting my conclusion! I am so happy. It is due in three weeks and I feel like I have progressed so much, and so much time and effort has gone into this one piece of work. I still have more to do though, like proofread and I am waiting on feedback on a chapter from my supervisor, so I will probably have a few changes to make to that, and then the same with the conclusion. But, STILL - I am so close to finishing it, and I am really happy with it too, which is amazing considering this time five months ago I was pulling my hair out and saying 'I will never be able to do this, I don't get it'. I can't wait for it to all be finished, put together and printed out. I think it will be my happiest moment to date. I have enjoyed doing it though - weirdly, though it has been really difficult and a huge learning process, but I have learned so much about the topic I have researched (learning disabilities and healthcare inequalities), it is an area that I am really interested in working in, so I am glad I have had the opportunity to delve to deep into the subject matter.

To celebrate Chris' dissertation defense, we took a weekend trip to the City of Platonic Love. We stayed in a nice hotel, had a fantastic dinner, and hit the Cezanne exhibit at the art museum. Don't know about you, but to me this shot screams "author bio." :-)

For reference. This is a contemporary street layer, but the basics still apply. I-35 was built on the route of East Avenue, which was a fairly large street in this period. The Mo-Pac follows the RR line (the thick, dark line) to the west. The low-rent area to the east (lower right) is the segregated black area. Oddly, if you compare this to the education map, the area between the UT campus and the capitol is a high education, but moderate rent area -- I'd guess this is sort of a government/university ghetto.

My dissertation was titled "Who Watches the Watchmen?". Investigating the increasing demand and popularity in products adapted from graphic novels, and the expanding market for graphic novels.
Exciting stuff.
I incorporated qualities of graphic novels into an effective piece of design. The final item was presented in a protective wallet like a real graphic novel.
My dissertation for a PhD in Aquaculture at Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture (FBA), University of Nordland (UiN), Bodø, Norway. Thesis: "Flesh quality and growth characteristics of farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) in relation to feed, feeding, smolt type and season". Acknowledgements goes to my supervisors; Christel Solberg, Ørjan Hagen and Eldar Å. Bendiksen, collaboration partners; BioMar AS, the University of Gothenburg, the Norwegian Research Council, FBA and Gildeskål Research Station AS (GIFAS), co-aouthors of published papers, technical staff at FBA and GIFAS, and all others that have contributed.
