Melbourne is a big city that feels small, thanks to the compact inner-city grid with its network of laneways running like capillaries off the main arteries. Around corners and down stairs, the city’s history is laid bare in its lanes, alleys and arcades, some furtive and obscure, others loudly proclaiming their presence with lights and layers upon layers of spray paint. Each laneway has something unique about it: a motif, an artwork or a venue; each arcade bears the hallmarks of its era. The only way to find out Melbourne’s secrets is to spend time lost in its latticework of laneways.
At least, I think these are called stereoscopes. A predecessor to the Viewmaster, this antique instrument was designed to view a picture in three dimensions.
There are actually three dimensions to this photo, as the books are part of a reflection in the display case's glass.

I was commissioned to make three old museum-style show cases by a Brighton artist. I used traditional three-way mitre joints and rebated the glass into place on construction.
The wood is sapele and the finish is French polish.
Mr. Eargle, one of our special education teacher, and his wife adopted children from many countries. They shared paraphanalia from Romania.
This display case is on the road with one of the most commercially successful country/pop crossover artists in music history.
This is a tabletop charging station we designed and built for Minotaur Mazes in Seattle. It is designed to display handheld GPS units and charges them when not in use. The curved lid closes and locks to keep the GPS units secure.

In preparation for the KCK June Fest in Kansas City, KS this Friday, 6/11, I have been making note cards and graphic ear rings with some of my images. This is an antique suitcase I turned into a display case for them.
The show is from 4 to 9 p.m. on Minnesota Ave in downtown Kansas City, KS. In addition to the art there will be numerous family oriented activities and of course food vendors.
If you are in the area Friday night come join the fun. Be sure to stop by and say "Hi!" to me.

This photo is funny for so many reasons! We only had 3 glass display cases back then with not much to put into them, and they were set up with a foot of space between them!
You can see how our Final Fantasy collection started out. Lulu was mine (and I had FFX Yuna still mint in her box; the Gunner Yuna was an impulse buy later), and Kevin found FF7 Tifa for a great price at one of the local conventions and things snowballed from there!
You know if we are able to create something this large and complicated we are surely able to take whatever case you have dreamt about and turn it into a reality.
This is another shelf that is a work-in-progress. I was gonna put the Revoltech Saber in the chair, but I realized she can't sit down, hehe.
This shelf won't be finished until the end of the year, since that's when my Saber/Zero figure will be released. My other Saber Maid figure should arrived by the end of this month :)
There are a number of these cases on tour with Taylor Swift displaying her wardrobe. We love this use of our cases.
