Cruella De Vil Disney Villains Designer Collection Doll
Personal Photos - Deboxing - Uncovered
The slip cover and acrylic top have been removed, revealing the doll in her display case in clear view from three sides. She is still attached to the backing and plastic spacer by rubber and plastic bands and T-tabs. Because of her wrap around fur coat, there are no wires securing her to the backing. She is also supported by the built-in display stand. There is a wire around her legs securing her to the stand.

Walker Art Center Library Display Case, May 2008
The Little Man Press
These items from the collection of Flora archivist Barbara Economon feature rare chapbooks with Flora woodcuts, a narrative chronicle, original pencil sketches, and vintage Little Man ephemera.
Little Man Press independently published a series of letterpress booklets that Flora designed and illustrated from 1939 to 1942. These publications were printed at home in Cincinnati in small runs of 125 to 400 copies. Flora’s collaborator was the author Robert Lowry.
Designed by the Walker Art Center's Visual Resources Specialist, Barbara Economon, with the assistance of Librarian Rosemary Furtak & amp; Shannon Klug.

Most travel guides simply call it the "shovel museum," but it's really the Stonehill Industrial History Center. Much more than shovels, the collection reveals interesting facts about what we were building and how we built it over the past 200 years.
More about the shovel museum at MaisonBisson.

Personal Photos - Deboxing - Freed from Spacer
Cruella De Vil has been completely freed from the backing and spacer. Some of the fibers at the bottom of her fur coat was stuck underneath the bottom of the cardboard backing, and had to be cut off, as there was double sided tape adhering the backing to the plastic base. She is still supported by the built-in doll stand, and her legs are wired to the stand. There is also protective plastic wrap around her legs.

BACKSTORY: On a lark, Clint googled to see if bronies actually had Meetups. They do! And there was one right by our house! "Farewell Springfield Mall". Wut!? Springfield Mall is closing?!?! Okay -- we need to make one last pilgrimage there, and this gives us an additional reason to get up off our asses. The end of an era... Now with bronies!
The Embarcadaro, San Francisco, California USA • At the pre-holiday crafts fair, this master flint-knapping, knife maker. I told him I thought these were museum quality, and 10,000 years ago, he would be Emperor.
In 1896, the Trinity College Museum found its first home in Epworth Building. When the campus library building opened in 1903, a special room (shown here) with a fireproof vault and display space became its second home.

Mother Gothel Disney Villains Designer Collection Doll
Personal Photos - Deboxed
She has been freed from all packaging restraints, except for some protective plastic wrapping around her legs. As her dress is very tight around her legs, I would have to remove her dress first, then remove from the doll stand, in order to remove the plastic wrap. This is the same procedure I had to perform on the Designer Maleficent and Evil Queen dolls, who also had very tight dresses. I will do that to Mother Gothel at a later time. Despite not yet removing her from the stand, I consider her deboxed, and photograph her from all angles while supported by the doll stand. She has been cleaned up a bit from some smudges on her face due to spilled hair gel. Her awkward boxed pose has been changed to a more normal one, with her facing forward, with her arms by her side.

Walker Art Center Library Display Case, designed by Rosemary Furtak, 2011.
Marcel Broodthaers (Belgian, 1924-1976) lived in poverty as a struggling poet. In 1964, he turned to visual art as an ironic gesture. His work included painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and film. He founded an imaginary museum housed in his studio. There, he not only exhibited his art but satirized the entire relationship between artist, artworks and museum. Broodthaers’ work became increasingly complex and broadened to include installation art, photography, performance art, books, assemblages, and recordings. He died at age 52; he’s buried under a tombstone of his own design.

Cruella De Vil Disney Villains Designer Collection Doll
Personal Photos - Deboxed - On Display Stand
Cruella De Vil has been fully deboxed, then replaced on her display stand. Her coat and accessories have been put back on. But her cigarette holder has been moved to her right hand. It is a more natural position, as she is holding her purse in her left hand. Her skirt is partially open, so show her legs, as she was when boxed.
