The only younger bedrock formations in West Greenland are the flat-lying Cretaceous and Tertiary sedimentary and volcanic rocks occurring on theamong others on ✓ vicinity of Disko Island and N u û gssuaq Peninsula. These comprise conglomerates, — sandstones, and shales of both terrestrial and marine facies not less than ✓ 1 2 ,000 meters thick, which range from uppermost Lower Cretaceous to E Paleocene or ✓ younger. Tuffs occur interbedded with the youngest Cretaceous and Paleocene beds, and there was large-scale volcanic activity of post-Lower Paleocene age. Tuffs and pillow lavas are succeeded by plateau basalts with known thickness of several kilometers, which are cut by a variety of minor intrusions. Further details are given in Section IV.
Some views from flight Oslo to Reykjavik to Seattle. Light over Greenland in particular was exceedingly flat. Upped contrast very much, and struggled with color.

80% du volume de l’iceberg se trouve sous la surface de l’eau et comme le relève l’expression « partie immergée de l’iceberg », on ne peut pas définir ce qui se trouve en dessous. Au large de la terre de Baffin, on a relevé des traces faites par des icebergs à 350 mètres de profondeur au fond de la mer. A l’issue de leur dérives dans la baie de Baffin, ils atteignent le Labrador et à ce niveau, les eaux plus chaudes se chargent de les faire fondre. Si leur trajet jusqu’à ce point a duré plusieurs années, ils peuvent fondre en 2 semaines.
