The Roxe Jam has taken place in Cardiff's Sevenoaks Park since 2007.
The Jam is to pay tribute and to remember Roxe, a Cardiff Graffiti Writer who sadly lost his life in 2007.
The event takes place every summer and attracts graffiti writers from around the UK and occasionally further afield.

SUN DISKS
The sun disks were found in a group of 13 tombs at Alacahöyük, known as the Royal Tombs and dating from the Early Bronze Age. The majority are made of bronze, but two striking examples are in silver. They form an important group of objects.
Why these objects were put in the tombs, sometimes with more than one in each tomb, remains uncertain. Since they are adorned with figures of sacred stags and bulls’ horns, it would seem that they had some ritual significance.
The disks are thought to represent the sun. They have projections at the bottom, by means of which they were probably attached to the top of wooden poles for carrying.
The poles had handles made of gold or silver.
Today we'll have a look at what a HDD looks like from the inside. Featuring a large (5.25", "full height"), ancient 2GB SCSI disk, manufactured by Seagate, obtained via the ancient art of dumpster diving. Modern drives use the same basic principles.
It took about 38 screws to take this thing apart... NOTE: don't try this at home. You'll obviously lose all data and may be injured by magnets, small parts or evil extraterrestrial cats. You have been warned.
MAD was a program I was writing to let me do drawing on a BBC Micro. This was a disk containing a version I had re-written for the Archimedes. Eventually, I found better software which I used instead.

A bit less portable than those recently rendered extinct by the ipod. Just as this old instrument was by the player piano

I get all gooey on the inside when I see these disks (memories). Getting them all out and waiting for my Atari 800XL's to arrive soon! :) Can't wait.
Sadly, the pic turned out really blurry. Eh.
These are the original semi hot swap hard drives. You can see the hard dive platters in the plastic storage boxes on top.

Today I received my new harddrive chassi which I will use for additional storage protection. The build quality is really awesome for a box with a 200 euro price tag. The only drawback is the fan noise, which is quite disturbing. Perhaps it's something I learn to live with. I got the chance to try out ZFS today before putting a concatenated RAID set on the discs. ZFS has got some really neat bells and whistles for sure. One Kernel panic later I was satisfied with my tests and went for HFS.
Strobist info: Canon 430EXII on camera, bounced wall left. Studio built on a broken mirror and black t-shirt hanging behind the chassi.
