St Peter’s, Stourton
The main part of St. Peter’s – the nave, chancel and the tower date from 1291. The oldest monument dates from second half of the 14th century and is most likely that of Maud Badlesmere, wife of the then owner of Stourhead.
The North Aisle was built by the 5th Lord Stourton in the early 15th century and the Baptistry was originally their chantry chapel: his tombstone lies alongside those of many of his family, and it is thought that their family vault lies under the church. Edward, the 6th Lord Stourton and his wife are probably buried there and their ornate tomb chest is by the entrance to the Chancel. They died in 1535, just as Henry VIII severed ties with the Catholic Church, which led to the demise of the Stourton family, who remained staunchly Catholic, and subsequently lost the Estate. The monument shows two lying figures, he armoured and she simply dressed, with 3 small-scale children at their heads, and their coat of arms, which includes the 6 wells of Stourhead to the east. The figures and tomb bear signs of desacratory damage.
In 1717, the Hoare banking family bought the Estate, which had fallen into disarray. The then Henry Hoare (the ‘Good’) put in hand significant improvements to the Church, and the family have continued as major benefactors. The South Aisle was built in 1848 to provide more seating – the population of the village in 1861 was 650 (today it is only 120) – and the three very fine Hoare Memorials were later moved there from the south wall of the Chancel.

They were caught red handed. Finally, when they managed to escape the ropes tied to a chair, their mysterious kidnapper returned and tied them up again. This time, they surely did a better job.
Asahi crawls over the floor, pulling his brother behind him who's tied to him at his hands and feet. Heavily breathing through the cloth in his mouth, he gives off angrily noises followed by a loud shrieking: "HMM!! Fuh haa hngg! - HHHNNGG!!!"
With an innocent manner Hayden shrugs his shoulders. "Hmm hah mm."
Calmer Asahi continues: "Hmm."
Meanwhile Hayden starts giggling.
Asahi sighs and murmurs muffled through the gag in his mouth: "Hn kek hah hawk. Het's ki am pmmmh."
Translation:
"Don't pull my hands so hard!", he complains to Hayden and shrieks as he suddenly feels something groping his butt. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get my hands free!", Hayden replied in an innocent tone.
"That felt different for a moment."
"No shame in checking out a bro's butt." Hayden snickers while Asahi tries to dial 911 with his nose. In resentment he sighs.
"That's not going to work. Your nose is more pointy than mine!", he glances over his shoulder to his brother. "Let's switch positions."

Eye-catching hodge-podge of meandering conduit and tubing, wires, broken windows, and general disarray, on a wall off of a parking lot behind an abandoned church in Wilkinsburg. The Reserved Parking signs are a poignant relic of a time when the place and the people there had a purpose.

Tall Italian Cypress Trees Alongside A Long Driveway

Tall and stately, slender Italian cypress trees (Cupressus sempervirens) stand like columns in formal gardens or front of estates. They grow fast and are relatively care free when planted appropriately. For more Italian cypress information including tips on how to grow an Italian cypress, read on.
Italian Cypress Information
These cypress trees grow in a very upright columnar shape. In fact, Italian cypress can get to 70 feet (21 m.) tall or even taller. On the other hand, they only grow between 10 and 20 feet (3-6 m.) wide. Anyone growing Italian cypress knows that these trees shoot up rapidly in the right location, often growing up to 3 feet (.9 m.) per year.
How to Grow an Italian Cypress
If you want to grow an Italian cypress, first determine if your climate will allow these trees to thrive. Italian cypress grows best in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 8 through 10. Fall is a good time to plant Italian cypress trees. To start growing Italian cypress, dig holes that are three and five times the width of the plant containers or root balls.

The holes, however, shouldn’t be deeper than the root ball depth. These wide holes allow Italian cypress trees to expand their roots as they grow. If you try to start growing them in smaller holes, it may cause the roots to circle around the holes, girdling the root balls.
Care for Italian Cypress
Once you have the trees properly sited and planted, it’s time to think about proper care for Italian cypress. The first part of care involves irrigation. You’ll need to water the plants well just after planting.
Then make irrigation a part of your regular care routine. These trees are generally healthy but you should keep an eye out for spider mites. If you ignore the presence of these tiny bugs, your elegant trees will soon look in disarray. Inspecting and shaking the tree branches while holding a white sheet of paper will help detect these pests.
If tiny red bugs fall onto the paper, spray water on full blast over the tree’s foliage to dislodge them.

Enjoyed a marvelous theatrical experience of Disney’s Lion King with my damsel and her sweet granddaughter at this gorgeous venue in San Francisco California, the Orpheum Theater on Market Street in the heart of San Francisco in San Francisco’s Tenderloin area. The Orpheum Theater a magnificent late Spanish Gothic theater that opened in 1926 originally as a showhouse for Vaudeville in San Francisco. It was renovated in 1970, then again in 1998 a major renovation that modified to venue to be able to stage Broadway type productions and is a locally designated San Francisco Landmark. Owned by BroadwaySF Theatrical Production Company which also owns the Golden Gate Theater a few blocks away which is owned by no surprise Robert Nederlander, the Nederlanders owns many of New York City’s Broadway venues. This image of the theater was taken right after the show but what not in the picture for the most part is the sad state of the Tenderloin area in San Francisco, to me having grown up in New York City area in the 1970’s and 1980’s very reminiscent of the general disarray and dismay that we saw in NYC during that era. Though I could draw that parallel, it’s not exactly the same, many business just boarded up with plywood painted black. Very sad as I image it was once a more vibrant area.
