since i am originally from iowa, i have been pretty wrapped up in this crazy weather that has made a disaster of my home state. intense rain, thunder, lightening, hail, flooding, tornadoes...it's all hit within a 3 week period.
there was so much flooding in iowa city/coralville that most every bridge in town and leading out of town was shut down at some point. one of the most frequently used interstate bridge that went from iowa city to cedar rapids had a record detour of over 280 miles. normally, a trip to CR from IC takes 25-30 minutes. there is A LOT of people commuting to and from those two cities. for most people that meant not going to work for a week until the waters simmered down. but for those that had to travel between the two cities, for instance, those who landed at CR airport and needed to get to IC, would have to drive all the way to Des Moines and loop around back onto interstate 80 to head into IC. that's over 4 hours of driving to get to a city 30 miles away. now that's intense!
and on a side note, the great flood of '08 happened to coincide (almost to the date) with mercury retrograde. may 27-june 19. and now that most of the bridges have opened back up in the past few days, mercury has gone direct.
so imagine reading your horoscope (pictured above) that was PRINTED in 2007 for wednesday june 18th, 2008. i just about shit myself! WTF?!?!? now, if that doesn't make you believe in astrology....i don't know what will!
