I found this little guy in a box in the attic the last time I was at home. I think I won it at a church carnival and I haven't been to a church carnival since probably 6th grade. This must be what happens to toys when they don't take off their makeup at night...and spend 10 years in a box in the attic.

I took this portrait of my three-year-old son while he was playing with his Play-Doh in the middle of the afternoon. The dining room was softly lit and I fired one remote flash from his left. The flash was sufficiently bright to darken everything else.

I adjusted the white balance, exposure, color temperature, contrast, and sharpened this before I resized it and uploaded it.

By the way, do you know how hard it is to take a portrait of an active young child? Even though he was contained to one chair, he managed to bounce around so much that this and maybe one other were the only usable photos from this shoot!
