Porcupine Tree - Collapse the light Into earth
I won't shiver in the cold
I won't let the shadows take their toll
I won't cover my head in the dark
And I won't forget you when we part
Collapse the light into earth
I won't heal given time
I won't try to change your mind
I won't feel better in the cold light of day
But I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to stay
Collapse the light into earth
Dignity (a.k.a. Dignity of Earth & Sky) is a sculpture on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River near Chamberlain, South Dakota.[2] The 50-foot (15.24 meter) high stainless steel statue by South Dakota artist laureate Claude Lamphere[3] depicts an Indigenous woman in Plains-style dress receiving a star quilt. According to Lamphere, the sculpture honors the culture of the Lakota and Dakota peoples who are indigenous to South Dakota.[4] Assisting Lamphere were sculptors Tom Trople, Jim Maher, Andy Roltgen, and Grant Standard. Automotive paint expert Brook Loobey assisted with the colors for the quilt, and Albertson Engineering of Rapid City, SD ensured the sculpture would endure the strong winds common in the area. Wikipedia. She is truly stunning.

Dear Flickr friends, we made it to another Christmas together! I am thankful for everyone that has been a part of my amazing journey on here. I am glad we are all (mostly) still in one piece in this world that seems to get crazier by the day. Let's always try to keep our heads up as we navigate the trials of this one life we have with faith, dignity and grace.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

You are my Morning Star
that shines from afar
that rises ere' the sun
chasing insecure shadows
from my heart
inspirational illumination
soul of my creation
you are a muse Venus born,
an angel d'amour
comforting and warm
let me surrender to your embrace
with dignity and grace
and know I would
sail the soft solar sea
for a chance to be
with thee...
My Morning Star
that shines from afar.

The storm raged and wailed around the lone ship, spilling more and more sea water into its deck that kept pouring into the vessel. Captain Dignity looked around helplessly at the failure. Perhaps she should have taken action initially in securing the planks of her ship or did a proper inspection to make sure there were no holes. Building strong foundations was not her forte.
"It's no use, Captain." said the first mate Mr. Insecurity. "Nothin' we can do now..."
Dignity sighed heavily, a captain must go down with her ship.
"We have to abandon ship, Captain!" yelled Mr. Fear, the third in command...
She woke up to a blaring sunlight, or was it the breaking dawn? Sand and dirt covering her face. Her throat was dry, her lungs felt like it was about to explode. She managed to drag herself further out of the soaked up sand. Her eyes adjusting to the light. A shade of some kind was spotted, along with the wreckage from the shipwreck.
"You are worthless!" a growl was heard nearby. Dignity was already beaten up, dirty, lost her ship, lost her crew and this was the final straw...
"Who you calling worthless?" she asked hoarsely, pulling out her sword that was intact, thankfully, despite having been hulled through the ocean. With a swift movement, she pointed the blade directly at the culprit, looking him in the eye with a deathly glare, "Let me show you who is worthless..." was all she said.
P.S. Always remember to keep your dignity intact because in the end, you are fucking worthy! (No matter what they say!)
I always loved 8f8 Creations's 3rd driftwood edition called Driftwood III - Lean - to because the texture changes has sweet messages that I always love looking through whenever I feel down. Today was one of those days and it has helped me and also inspired this photo in a way.

"I'm going to get a dinghy and sail her up the West Coast........" It was a pleasure taking friends to Plockton for their first trip. As you can see, conditions were not ideal for clicking, very bright with no dramatic lumpy bumpy clouds for sky interest. So, this old wreck took his friends to this old wreck! At least the tide was playing ball. We had to share a tripod though. Which led to much discussion.
I really like my Three Legged Thing tripod. It is light but sturdy, functional but quirky. However, I am glad I am not the only one who finds the Swiss ARCA plate system fiddly and annoying. I much prefer the Manfrotto snap in style plate and thus I will be changing the head on my tripod. The system has it's weakness's too but it is quick and easy and I will be less paranoid about the connection.
The architectural design of the Capitol, rectangular in form, with great windows and high ceilings, follows the traditional pattern of 19th century planning for public buildings. A modified and refined Renaissance style gives the impression of strength and dignity combined with utility.
The commanding feature is the central towering dome constructed of iron and brick and covered with 23 carat gold. The gold leafing was replaced in 1964-1965 at a cost of $79,938. The dome is surmounted by a lookout lantern that may be reached by long and winding stairs, and it terminates in a finial that is 275 feet above the ground floor. The rotunda beneath the dome is 67 feet in diameter. Four smaller domes of simple design rise from the four corners of the Capitol

After seeing a fellow photographers stunning image of this in the local paper yesterday I thought I'd go down and find the wreck of the fishing boat Dignity for myself. Situated in Hooe Lake in Plymouth this wreck has been photographed a thousand times but I've never actually known where it was. After a bit of investigation this morning I found it's location and took a bimble down. The cloud cover wasn't the best, the sky was grey and dull so I went for a black and white edit. I think this would look great with a decent sunset behind it though.
Friday was the big day of the vet visit with Cleo, Linus, and Fynn. It was quite the nightmare, Friday the 13th living up to its reputation, and I was already exhausted when we arrived. In Cleo's case the vet of course mentioned that she is still too .... well nourished. Reducing her food even more is impossible because this would probably lead to a fatty liver which could be life threatening. The vet recommended that Cleo should simply move more, very funny. Instead of putting her kibbles into a bowl and placing it right in front of her nose, I'm now supposed to put the kibbles into different spots in the house and garden and make her move for every single one. This sounds like a good idea unless you have to deal with Cleo. The photo shows Cleo after I had just thrown a kibble onto the path behind her. She sat there, looked at me and obviously waited for me to bring it back. I guess it's not only a question of laziness but also of dignity. We will keep on trying but I suppose the one who will lose weight (and the sad remains of her dignity) is the human.
walking into this abandoned and badly decayed farmhouse outside Warren,IL.,no one would imagine the elegance of the stairway within...
Thanks to good friend Aces & Eights Phtography for sharing this little gem...
Today, I feel sadness for all the hate, power, greed, and selfishness that is going on in this world, and I feel compelled to address the situation with my work. I plead with all people, from the top to the bottom, to stop and think about the cruelty of what is happening in our world. We are all part of humanity and should be treated with dignity. The purpose of life is to live and let live, not to dictate and undermine people. We are all important human beings and should be treated as such. Life is better and happier when we treat each other with love, friendship, and acceptance and enjoy our diversity.
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, and stay safe! ❤️❤️❤️
