Something very different this time, I always wanted to try this sort of thing.
When I looked through my surfing shots, this one was the perfect series to give it a go.
Hope you like it, constructive criticism is more than welcome.
Thanks for looking

It wasn't just the old lady who lived in a shoe. There was also a middle aged photographer. (Be nice - I like to consider 42 middle aged).

It wouldn't be autumn if I didn't have some Indian corn in my home. Many years ago my hubby and I grew it on our farm. The kid's and I had the best time pulling back the husks and discovering the rich colors that lay beneath each ear. Just another wonderful memory I have tucked away in my heart and mind.
Fish wheels can be seen at work on most of our rivers these days. Right now the salmon are running, and people in rural Alaska are busy filling their freezer's, or canning the fish, for the long winter months ahead. I find the fish wheel an ingenious device.
*A fish wheel, also known as a salmon wheel, is a device situated in rivers for catching fish which looks and operates like a watermill. However, in addition to paddles, a fish wheel is outfitted with wire baskets designed to catch and carry fish from the water and into a nearby holding tank. The current of the river presses against the submerged paddles and rotates the wheel, passing the baskets through the water where they intercept fish that are swimming or drifting. Naturally a strong current is most effective in spinning the wheel, so fish wheels are typically situated in shallow rivers with brisk currents, close to rapids, or waterfalls. The baskets are built at an outward-facing slant with an open end so the fish slide out of the opening and into the holding tank where they await collection. (Wikipedia)

I found this mirror and played around with it until I was really confused.
Thanks to Podsville for the tools needed to make the magic easy. He knows not what he's done.

As the cold deepens in Alaska - one of the first chores each morning is to light the wood stove. We no longer chop kindling to get a fire started. Good old "fat wood" is the secret to get your fire roaring quickly.
(I got this shot of Doc as he was lighting the three fat wood sticks that ignite the logs.)

A blustery day in Southeast Alaska. Time to settle in with a good book, and listen to the rain as it taps at the window panes.
No matter how cold or blustery it is outside - Doc. Doolittle must feed the birds. This year two dozen wild spruce hens have discovered the birdseed, and now flock around Doc. when he fills the feeders. Disgruntled Magpies try to chase them away, but to no avail, oh well . . . as Doc is fond of saying; "Everything has to eat."
