A Canadian non-mainstream indie, alternative band formed in 2000 by Win Butler and Josh Neu. A total of 7 members use a variety of instruments including guitar, bass, piano, synthesizer, harp, violins, french horn, accordion, mandolin, xylophone with thought provoking lyrics.

Their 2nd Album, "Neon Bible" won 2008 International Album of the Year and the Juno Alternative Album of the Year.

In 2011, "The Suburbs" won the Grammys Album of the Year," the Juno Best Album of Year and Brit Award for Best International Album.

In 2014, their score for the motion picture, "HER," was nominated for an Academy Award.

"Funeral," their first album was picked my multi music publications and websites as one of the greatest albums of the decade (2000-2009) and was included in numerous top end-of-decade Top 10 Lists.

David Bowie was an admirer and appeared with them in concert.

Aside from the fact that this foto is digital manipulated, this house was surely creapy for real. Very weathered and there were actually people living in it.

I have been finding solace lately in going into my bedroom, locking the door, strategically opening the blinds enough to let light in but not enough to flash the many dog walkers that pass by, and shooting a self portrait. The blank white wall used to be my enemy as I always wondered how I would make it different enough from portrait to portrait and how I could distract from it. But lately, when I feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over, oddly enough I find myself back here, brainstorming, hair flipping, using my 10-second-click-and-dash timer, and just enjoying the solitude of 30 minutes with my camera. Life is so good, and moments like these truly let me breathe it all in.

I spent the last three days driving, and today it was snowing. The turnpike was terrible in the morning, the snow was heavy, the plows hadn't been out, and then this car carrier in front of me lost one of it's vehicles. Only because of my masterful driving skills was I able to avoid CERTAIN DEATH!

Luckily I had the presence of mind to not only avoid the tumbling, flipping, and eventually exploding vehicle, but I was also able to snap off a quick picture of the action as it unfolded.

Just call me the ever-ready photographer.
