DIGITAL PAINT & MANIPULATION

I finally got my graphic tablet today and started with this picture for about six hours! It took a while until I got used to, but I got familiar with the pen quite fast.
Now I´m overly happy with the result. I never thought I´d get that far in quality with my first attempt, since I haven´t drawn since about seven years, and this is my first digital drawing. I´ve never drawed so much at all and I never reached this quality with the drawings I did so far. The video tutorials I watched on Youtube over the last week, when I was waiting for the tablet, has been amazingly helpful.
I can´t believe what I did here... I´ve never expected this. Its like, I knew I can draw, but... what the...?! That was too easy, where´s the hook? I don´t mean to sound cocky, please don´t get me wrong, I just figured out that I´m able to draw like this. =]
When you accidentally blow up a thing with magic and can't decide if you should laugh hysterically or start screaming.
This was like, the third drawing I started today.
Also, in a completely unrelated exclamation: YAY WEEKEND!!

These drawings represent the Guiana Dolphins (Sotalia guianensis) and they often show a pink belly :) They live in the estuaries and are a very small dolphin species (less than 2 meters big).
Green Heritage Fund Suriname, a local non-profit, has been collecting data and conducting research on the Guiana Dolphin for over 10 years: www.greenfundsuriname.org/en/dolphins/
Almost didn't do this. At all. I had the hardest time drawing anything.....but here you go. Faster than usual arts.
It bugs me that I changed the blue of the text balloons (Which I stole off the internets) but it was hard to read. Still is.....
