Second in new series of digitally produced images that explores the possibility of working with digital pixels much in the same way as a painter moves pigment about on a canvas. As a long-term abstract painter, this was always something I wanted to do but never got around to. Finally being laid out with a case of Covid, I had a lot of time in which to explore this idea. So, much good came out of my own personal illness and lockdown. What better way to heal.
This image is dedicated to my dear old friend and co-creator of the "PANO-Vision" group, Paul Ewing. As Alan Price sang in Lindsay Anderson's film, "O Lucky Man" ... "If you have a friend on whom you think you can rely, you are lucky man" ... I am.

To create this digital rendering I scanned a 35mm film negative photograph of a specimen in a Florida yard.
After scanning the image, I eliminated all of the background components, created shading and textures in the background and treated the leaves and flowers with various filter brushes. I print these kinds of images on heavy watercolor papers or canvas.

Not uploading a photograph this time! I made this holiday card for Green Heritage Fund Suriname, a non-profit that rescues and rehabilitate wild animals (mainly sloths and anteaters) in my country. I'm one of the volunteers there. Check us out at greenfundsuriname.org
The drawing is done in Mischief and the text and logo are added using Photoshop.
